Very unhappy with our dinner here. I ordered the entrecôte, medium cooked. I had to send the food back to the chef three times because the entrecôte either was very cooked (dry meat) or fully raw (not cooked inside at all). After three times back in the kitchen I told the waiter to take it all back, cause the vegetables was becoming cold, the shef could not cook the meat properly and my friend was finished eating. The waiter asked if I wanted something else to eat, and I asked if they could make one of the other dishes on the menu. I then was told I would have to wait until all the other tables had been served – and the restaurant was almost full. I said no thank you, It was almost 9 PM and I was very hungry. My friend stayed to pay, and had to wait 30 minutes and then had to ask for the bill again, and I went to this Italian restaurant next door. When we looked at the receipt from Blue Monkey afterwards, we saw that they put the entrecôte on the bill. Of course we refused to pay for this meal I never had, and went back the next day to have our money back. This was totally impossible for the staff to accomodate, and told us to get back the next day in the evening, When the manager was there. When we went back as they told us to, the manager was not there and again told us to get back the third next day – during day time. No thanks.. What an incredible unfriendly and unhelpful staff.. Would totally recommend the italian restaurant next door, Olio. Amazing food and staff, which...
Read moreWeird, really weird place... made a reservation for 9 people... gave my last name... all was good... the man on the phone says see you at 20:30 We all hop in the car and we decide to make a phone call to tell them we're a bit earlier, like 15 minutes. The guy on the phone tells us to wait and after 3 minutes a ladies voice tells us they are full and they have no table and hangs up the phone :( Wait a minute, in my world that's not done, I call them back... same lady picks up and I tell her my surname to explain I have a reservation at 20:30. Again she tells me "no table??" How's that possible as I made a reservation confirmed by her male co-worker... ??? She gives me the guy I spoke and I tell him that we're on our way with 9 people for our reservation at 20:30. Guy starts to makeup excuses, sorry mr. I have no table tonight, thought you mean tomorrow... bla bla bla... I tell him that he told me earlier he would see me in an hour, bad liar you I said... very bad, ugly to say at least! Anyhow a reservation does not mean a thing to these people that's for sure! So better think twice as you might be dissapointed when you arrive with your crew and no spot is...
Read moreWalking by, this place looked like a gem with its rustic charm and lively crowd, so we gave it a whirl. The interior was adorable think colorful tiles and soft music that screamed “Spain.” But the experience? Kinda underwhelming. Our server was sweet but forgot half our order, and we had to flag her down for drinks. The menu was packed with tempting dishes, but my tapas were a mixed bag: the croquetas were okay, but the patatas bravas were soggy and lacked kick. My partner’s steak was chewy and overcooked, which was a bummer. The sangria was a lifesaver, and the tarta de Santiago was a nice, almondy treat. The bill wasn’t too steep, but I expected more flavor for what we paid. If you’re nearby, it’s a decent option, but I wouldn’t trek across town for it. 😕 I’ve had better Spanish...
