WISSLER // Salou — Restaurant in Salou

We had the best dining experience here throughout our 7 night stay in Salou. Excellent food, friendly waitress (Cally) and a chilled vibe. It was so good, we forgot to photo the food!

We visited on a fairly quiet evening, so there was only one waiting staff working called Cally, she was amazing! She was very friendly and attentive, making sure we were ok for drinks and had everything we needed.

The place itself is lovely and definitely passes the vibe check. Dimly lit, relaxing music not too loud so you can't hear one another. Tucked away in a quiet corner of Salou.

As for the food, it was delicious. I'm a burger fan, I love my burgers. This was on par with the best of them. Kind of similar to Gourmet Burger Kitchen back in the UK - but much nicer. I got the 'Nasty' burger and there was nothing nasty about it. Super juicy on a soft seeded brioche roll. You can tell fresh ingredients are being used which sets Wissler apart from most of the takeaway style food places nearby. The Loaded fries were also very nice.

There was a great selection of drinks available and up to 9pm you can order a bucket of 5 beers for 10 Euro. I drank the Ambar IPA which was a tasty beer and cost 4.90 Euro - fair price for a decent beer.

Their website says they are the premier venue to watch Formula 1 in Salou. One small television, which the only member of staff working didn't know how to work and had to be shown by one the customers. The one serving lady was run off her feet. When the race started, there was no audio, so they just kept the music playing. Took 20 minutes to get a drink. Mojito was atrocious. Don't state on your website that this is the best place for F1. La salsa que acompaña a la hamburguesa no aportó ningún sabor relevante; ni el toque de los pepinillos se percibía, lo que la dejó algo insípida. Este detalle es importante, ya que una salsa bien elaborada puede marcar la diferencia en una hamburguesa.

La carta ofrece pocas opciones en cuanto a hamburguesas, lo que limita la variedad para quienes buscan diferentes combinaciones o sabores más innovadores. Además, algunos platos carecen de equilibrio entre ingredientes, lo que resta protagonismo a la calidad individual de cada producto.

Oferta cervecera y maridaje En cuanto a las cervezas, aunque se promociona una experiencia cervecera, la realidad es que solo disponen de una marca patrocinadora, sin variedad para adaptarse a distintos sabores de platos. Para ofrecer una experiencia cervecera completa, sería ideal contar con opciones que puedan acompañar tanto platos suaves como carnes intensas, independientemente de si son marcas conocidas o no, siempre que tengan un buen perfil de sabor.

Horario y gestión de cocina La cocina cierra a las 22:30, pero el aviso para realizar pedidos fue muy corto. Nos sentaron a las 22:00 y enseguida nos informaron del cierre inminente de cocina, lo que no permitió disfrutar la cena con tranquilidad.
