The live music was blaring out the speakers when we arrived at Café Mozart II, Right on the world famous Maspalomas Dunas. We grabbed the menu cards, that are absolutely over loaded with information. The photos are not very inviting and the menu card is just more confusing than helpful. But we placed our order, expecting the food to be better than it was presented. We ordered two - simple - hotdogs and a simple sandwich. It took the kitchen close to 20 minutes to put together our order. I mean, at an actual hotdog stand, it takes the vendor about 30 seconds to build a hotdog with twice the ingredients than what I was served; a dry hot dog bun, a medium tempered boiled sausage topped with ketchup and mustard. That was it. No exiting or special, home made ingredients. Nothing. Just a very basic hotdog, like the one you can get in Ikea for 1.00€. The food was bland, tasteless and by no means cheap. When we had paid, there was an awkward ambience - the waiter was obviously expecting a tip.... But I'm sorry - in order to get a tip, I need you to go above and beyond or at least just provide some kind of service. You just bringing me the food from the kitchen and throwing in on the table in front of me is not 'providing service', and does not entitle you to any tip. The music was LOUD. We are talking 12:00pm, lunchtime, not a midnight club ambience. The location is amazing, but the food is bland, waiters are performing very poorly and we will probably not be back. It's a shame, because the location and the live music really makes the setting for great potential, but Café Mozart II just...

Like most places around here, the service can be a bit hard to get a hold of it it's busy and you're in a quiet corner. Very little upselling, which is both good and bad depending on if you want more drinks.
They had a local rock band doing a lot of classic rock and blues, a singer doing more tropical music, and a rock singer with a bit more aggressive style (though very kind), who was awesome.
Roberto, presumably the owner, was very friendly and up for a chat, always a good sign. The rest of the staff is also quite friendly, even when busy.
Weirdly: unable to tip if you...
Read moreMozart Cafe II served up delicious food at very reasonable prices—great value all round. The fresh orange juice was especially lovely, perfectly refreshing and clearly just-squeezed.
That said, the service was very slow. It took quite a while for our order to be taken and even longer for the food to arrive. We were a large group, which might explain the delay, but it still felt a bit drawn out.
Overall, the tasty food and good prices made it worth the wait—but bring your patience if you're visiting...
