If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would. By far the best meal we have had out in a long time.
The restaurant itself has a lovely atmosphere, tastefully decorated with attentive but not intrusive staff. We started with bruschetta with ibericos ham, tomato and olive oil. For a simple dish it was delicious, showcasing how simple but very high quality ingredients can create something amazing. We also shared the and beef carpacio with truffle mayonnaise and parmesan. My goodness this was divine! The balance of ingredients was perfect, the beef was so tender it just melted, I could have eaten plate after plate of this, it was so delicious.
After a short break we then shared the shredded beef tacos which immediately transported me back to a holiday we had had in Mexico, they were just as good as we had had there.
Then it was on to the main event. I opted for the arroz cremoso, a delicious and rich mushroom risotto with pork. The other half went for the iberico pork sirloin with Pedro ximinez reduction. The rich almost sticky sauce with the caramelised onions perfectly balanced and complimented the pork. I've never tried pork like it before, it was like an incredibly cooked, flavourful and tender steak. The bottle of red wine that was recommended for us complimented it beautifully.
After letting our food digest for a bit we decided we had room for dessert. I'm not a fan of tiramisu as I don't like coffee but decided to try some of the other half's and it was delicious and incredibly light unlike some other tiramisus which can be very rich with an overpowering taste of coffee. I opted for the chocolate brownie which was served warm with some delicious ice cream.
I only regret we didn't try this place at the beginning of our holiday as I'd definitely have gone back a...
Read moreThis is a miniature place where you have to book in advance. But the food and service... WOW! Nice attentive waiter and ok prices.
We started with the house drink (expensive, but huge, sweet, very nice flavour, cherry?). Great start.
Then we had the full size Iberico ham 100% and cheese platter. This is a must if you eat at a place like this, and go for Iberico 100%!
Then we had the pork ribs, and lets just say this was the best ribs we've had before. The crispy meat on top, tenderness, bbq sauce, and of course flavour. Wow.
The desert was also good, but I think they change it often as it is not on the menu and they only had two. If we had more time we would have eaten more, but our 2 hour slot was over.
Only downside I would say is the location. The place is so very small, and if you sit outside by the street there are people and cars driving by all the time.
Anyhow, we will be back!
P.S. They know their wines, and this is one of the few places we've been in Maspalomas where they actually know how to serve red wine at the right temperature...
Read moreBooked online, easily done, a table for 2 adults. On arrival we were treated with a smile and a warm welcome, a choice of tables, inside or outside, shaded from the evening sun.
My wife wanted a Canarian white wine, a liittle sweeter than a sauvignon blanc, up stepped (Spanish Kevin!!,) the restaurant manager, he explained the different types of wine along with a recommendation with pride and knowledge, poured a tasting glass and ...... Yes, spot on, result!
Next was the menu, we had difficulty selecting dishes until ..... up popped Spanish Kevin and again, with his expertise we chose:
Croquettes, 3x lobster and 3x Wagyu beef, an Iberico tapas sharing plate and Truffled rice with pork all of which was absolutely delightful.
We also asked that the food came as and when with no rush, just to relax, enjoy the evening and the ambience which is exactly what we got.
The kitchen and Chefs was and were immaculate.
The restaurant is beautiful and well worth a visit. Well done Spanish Kevin and his staff, you did yourselves...
