If you’ve had it, like me, with the ‘tourist trap’ of Maspalomas, head over to Calle Placido Domingo. This is a more of a residentail area, where you can hear people in the street speak Spanish more than you can hear them speak German or Swedish. It is far from the tourist crowd, but you can find a number of great restaurants here, all offering outside dining. I ended up at Motivos and was pleasantly surprised. I had a great meal starting with a tuna tartere with a main course of grilled grouper. The grouper was served with patatoes and grilled vegetables- some corn, bell pepper etc. It tasted great. Service was quick and friendly. I paid about 40 euro for a starter, main course and two glasses of white wine, plus tip. More than I had paid at the restaurants at Calle las Dunas.
