Maldito Carnaval — Restaurant in San Bartolomé de Tirajana

Luces y sombras... Fui con mi pareja y la experiencia fue normal, intentaré hacer una crítica constructiva. Reservamos a través de la web para dos personas a la hora elegida, al llegar al local nos recibió un Joker muy amable que nos comunica que si queremos ver el espectáculo de esa noche tenia un suplemento de 10€ por persona, ya que estamos... pero eso debería avisarse previamente. Nos comunican que el espectáculo comienza a las 22:00 y que es un espectáculo Drag, El mismo comienza a las 22:10 y aparecen 2 drag, cantan una canción y desaparecen por un tiempo de unos 20/30 minutos. Al cabo de ese tiempo vuelven a aparecer con otra actuación y vuelven a irse otros 15 minutos y así hasta 3 veces. Entiendo que el local y el espectáculo esté preparado para el turismo nacional y/o extranjero, para el residente canario es un espectáculo algo pobre (es mi opinión por supuesto). La comida rica pero no estas en un estrella Michelin, pagamos por 3 entrantes, 1 postre, 1 agua, 1 jarra, 1 cerveza y un cóctel 105€. A destacar el personal, absolutamente TODOS son maravillosos, tengo que decir que se equivocaron con la presentación del postre y se dieron cuenta una vez lo habíamos terminado y nos regalaron otro con la presentación correcta. El cóctel de 10 la verdad, presentaciones de los platos muy originales y diferentes. Repetir de momento no volveríamos a repetir, esta bien para ir y conocerlo y llevarte la experiencia a casa. Recomendado para ir al menos una vez.

Lights and shadows... I went with my partner and the experience was average. I'll try to give some constructive feedback.

We booked online for two people at our chosen time. Upon arriving at the venue, a very friendly Joker greeted us and informed us that if we wanted to see that night's show, there was a €10 surcharge per person. Since we were already there... but that should be communicated in advance.

They told us the show would start at 10:00 PM and that it was a Drag show. It actually began at 10:10 PM, and two drag queens appeared, sang one song, and then disappeared for about 20/30 minutes. After that time, they came back for another performance and left again for another 15 minutes. This pattern repeated about three times.

I understand that the venue and the show are geared towards national and/or international tourism. For a Canary Islands resident, it's a somewhat underwhelming show (that's just my opinion, of course).

The food was tasty, but you're not in a Michelin-starred restaurant. We paid €105 for 3 starters, 1 dessert, 1 water, 1 pitcher of sangria (or similar), 1 beer, and 1 cocktail.

The staff deserves special mention; absolutely ALL of them are wonderful. I should note that they made a mistake with the presentation of our dessert and only realized it once we had finished it. They then gave us another one with the correct presentation. The €10 cocktail was truly worth it, and the presentation of the dishes was very original and different.

For now, we wouldn't go back. It's fine to go and experience it once and take that memory home with you. Recommended to try...

We had a two-person multi-course dinner booked here. Unfortunately during the second starter, my partner suddenly felt unwell and had to leave to be sick in the restroom. We informed the staff that we wouldn’t be able to continue the meal, even though the next courses were probably already being prepared.

Despite the disruption, the staff were incredibly understanding and kind. They only charged us for the starters and the bottle of wine, and even packed up the dishes and wine for us to take home! We really appreciated their thoughtful handling of the situation it made a difficult moment feel less sad and awkward.

The restaurant looks so pretty and the food we were able to try was really tasty. We hope to be back another time to enjoy the full experience. Great thanks from the both of us (Joni and Sebastian) again for your care and...

I knew the canary islands would not have the best food. We ordered guacamole, nachos and the aged steak.

The asparagus salad was 3 huge jarred or canned white asparagus with some tomatoes and pieces of tuna. I was expecting regular grilled or oven baked asparagus not mushy stringy jarred ones.

The guacamole was fine. It was A LOT of guac. Probably the first time I’ve gotten too much guac for the amount of nachos. Although it said cheddar I think and canned spray cheese IS NOT CHEDDAR.

The 600 gram aged steak was not expensive. But it was really tough and we could probably Only eat 2/3 of it. The grilled peppers also had a really strange aftertaste.
