Customer care needs looking at. Very good if you are a regular, cis and a couple (biological male and a biological female). 3rd time I've been in, 1st time sat having a laugh with some guys from Scandanavia, 2nd time I went for a small breakfast and all was good, friendly, chatty etc. This time new staff waiting on, so going to say I found not very friendly this time around. Other customers (I know they are out of your control to a degree) but when some witch who thinks they look like the queen of Sheba but really are in the gutter, sit there, stirring and talking about you (yes I can lip read) it's pretty sad huh. Sorry I look so much more prettier, slimer and fitter than the obvious battle axes that may frequent the place, what can I do.I even took a picture of this plastic (mutton dressed as lamb) woman, (wicked witch of the West) images attached of it.
I believe this place to be NOT very LGBT friendly, (especially the T) I advise STAYING AWAY, especially if you may be transgender, they really don't want you as it obviously touches a nerve with some old, English bigots that visit and think they own it.
Such a shame that when you come to Gran Canaria for the first time, it makes you not want to return. Little Englanders, make me sick and should keep that ridiculous thought process and beliefs in your own home, obviously Tory voters or Sun/Daily Mail readers!
I know this will get a poor response, I just hope you change your image that's all!
I've been all over this wonderful island with 2 friends that live here, over the past week, having authentic food and everywhere has been absolutely wonderful, but oh, oh too many Brits in one place, we know what happens next don't we, flag is planted and it's back to the stone ages!
I really don't mean to sound cruel, as I'm not a cruel person, just tired of this type of bigotry, that should stay in the last century!
Think on people, when you are pointing a finger at others, 3 are pointing back at yourself!
UPDATE FROM THE OWNERS REPLY
It's obvious you can't " vet" anyone going into your pub, so why even say that! How you would expect a solo person who feels uncomfortable and concerned about any repercussions in a strange country, to make a complaint, shows ignorance in all honesty. I really do not believe you have a transgender person working for you, I think they would probably be destroyed in your employment by some of the people that go into the establishment, especially when they are drunk, I experienced it today and I "pass!" and that was by one of your waitress's or should we say waiters in today's society. It's amazing that lots of "cis" people seem to think they are "expert trans person spotters" isn't it, sarcasm intended. Eg, oh they have big hands, broad shoulders, Adams apple blah, blah, blah, so let's sit and stir at them and discuss them etc, etc, etc. It's funny that lots of businesses always state that they have a "trans" person in employment when they are trying to make themselves look like they are diverse, when in actual fact they are probably most definitely not! If you didn't have an issue, then I wouldn't have written such a review would I, so I stand by what I have written. My advice is for trans people, especially those who do not "pass" in society as the gender they pertain to live in, is to go somewhere else, it then protects the sensitive nature of the general bigot that may have skeletons in their own cupboard upon entering into the presence of a "trans" person. Maybe you should improve upon your diversity training for all staff, it may help in...
Read moreHi Red Cow I want to link this review to the reply you have sent my friend Chris in relation to his review and I was also present at both of our visits to your establishment and in fact we have been visiting the red cow for years and have never had any issues before. I firstly want to address your comment on a "Roll over", which I think is very unprofessional. I completely understand the difficulties a 16 year old might have adjusting to the working life in a busy customer facing environment and that is understandable but this particular staff member had an attitude and 7 people cannot be wrong about that. Our initial problem which I believe good management could have resolved on day 1 but on day 2 it almost was continuous and actually made our group feel uncomfortable. Now we arrived on our 2nd visit and this 16 year old took our drinks order which we were fine with and she was pleasantly better behaved than the day before but then another waitress Becky who is absolutely a treasure to your restaurant came over and took our order for food and took our drinks order, so I believe that having x2 waitresses attending the one table caused confusion over x2 orange juices and an extra tea being extra on the bill, now we absolutely had no problem paying for these items as they are great value and we agreed as a group not to cause a fuss, however a few minutes after this mistake was highlighted by another female senior middle aged employee who I think was working back of house came over to our table and forcefully placed the two orange juices on the table that where in fact doubled ordered due to a staffing communication error and she said " here are the extra orange juices that YOU DID ORDERED" in a very very passive aggressive manner and that was the point of no return as we as a group could not believe her attitude and professionalism towards the customer. So yes we did advise our friend to leave a review because we generally were so shocked at this woman and now her response or the establishments response has proving how out of touch you customer service is and just on a finish note Becky is phenomenal at her job and she took up the responsibility of apologising for her senior staff members wrong doing. I do hope your service improves as it was once a great place to visit and I have many memories as do...
Read moreAmazing place! Would highly recommend!
Me and my partner spent most of our hoilday mornings and evenings here as it has everything from: football, boxing, rugby, music, karaoke, entertainment, games, quizzes and MORE!
Firstly we got breakfast here a couple of times and the mighty breakfast tastes amazing and alongside side this the prices are very good and the food is served quickly. Staff keeps on eye on you to make sure you're happy and if there's anything they can do to help.
In the evenings we when down to watch the boxing, football and enjoy the friendly and funny DJ during the quiz and game nights.
The DJ is brilliant and gets everyone involved in all the games and quizzes.
We also had a little bit of food in the evening consisting of some pub grub (chips, onion rings and garlic bread) and just like the breakfast, it was fantastic!!!
To top it off the staff are amazing! Always there and happy to serve! And very fast when it comes to serving drinks and very friendly and you can enjoy at chat with them.
Overall fantastic location! Would recommend to anyone going to or currently currently at Gran Canaria!
P.s better than any bar at the Yumbo center!
Thank you for the memories! From your friends, the...
