Restaurante Alma Gaia — Restaurant in San Bartolomé de Tirajana

This is a super restaurant. It’s located down stairs through an imposing doorway/stairs. You walk through a magnificent brick lined structure to the dining areas. We were greeted by a friendly and enthusiastic team. We sat on the terrace but would love to see the atmosphere generated in the cooler months inside.

Menu is excellent although I was disappointed to see that the pork ribs were not available on the night we visited. Drinks were generous and locally sourced but with others available.

Meals were beautifully cooked and presented. Front of house very attentive without being overpowering. Great team!

We went out to have dinner here which was very good. A bit pricy, but we somehow expected this. Awesome wine and great service. No complains here.

The two star review results from the experience buying ham there to take away. Price was advertised as 19.95 per 100 gram. After asking how much the already packaged ham was, we got the answer that this is 100 gram and hence price is 19.95. Again a bit pricy but it was supposed to be prime quality. So I went for it. Later I weighed the package at home and found out it was in fact 80 gram. And this included the cardboard packaging.

HIDDEN GEM, easily missed walking past as there isn’t any obvious signage outside. The restaurant is underground with a large outdoor dinning space in the courtyard. We discovered thanks to google maps.

Fine dinning at a very reasonable price, the staff were outstanding, very helpful, word perfect English spoken with service and food to a very high standard, outstanding.

Many different diets catered for including Gluten Free. I had the best gluten free bread I’ve ever come across.

Highly recommended. Although they take cards remember to bring cash for a tip as this cannot be added to the card payment.
