Restaurante Cactus — Restaurant in San Bartolomé de Tirajana

Was not impressed nor disgusted by this restaurant.

Service was supposed to be 20 minutes for Paella, but it wasn’t. More like 40-60 minutes. This was kind of bad considering only one other patron was ordering food.

When I received my appetizer, it was a shrimp cocktail. It was NOT good. It was a few shrimp with a lot of mayo aioli. I’m sure someone who loves mayonnaise would enjoy it. It was about 1/2 kilogram of mayo.

My final meal included a chicken special (1/2 chicken with fries and a salad). The chicken was gamy but the fries were good and the salad which was a lettuce / spiced cabbage mix was DELICIOUS.

My friend got the chicken Paella shown in the pic and did not like it because it was chewy. We spent about 50€ for two people with one main course, 2 drinks, and one appetizer.

In terms of the service, however, I will say that staff deserves high praise because they are very attentive...

I had high expectations when visiting this restaurant, especially for their supposed "fresh red tuna." Unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. The tuna I was served was completely tasteless, lacking any freshness or flavor you'd expect from a dish like this. The same refers to the side dish, boiled vegetables with no taste which I could not eat at all. To make matters worse, a few hours after my meal, I experienced serious stomach problems, which I can only assume were caused by the food I was served. We were on holiday as a family group of 6 adults and 7 children (from 6 to 15 years old).We were staying at an all inclusive resort but I had booked a pre birthday meal at a restaurant along the boardwalk. We popped in for a pre dinner drink and we were welcomed by friendly and efficient staff.They made sure the children all had enough space and were quick collecting and delivering our orders.
