Pub Dragon — Restaurant in San Bartolomé de Tirajana

Once upon a time we have fallen for a tourist trap like little children.

It was an evening of live country music, that my husband likes, who was convinced by one of the waiters that they serve a very good meat. We were sitted straight away, the staff were very nice and found us a table that is more protected from a draft. One of the waiters took our order, which was a chicken soup, fillet steak with green peppercorn sauce (rare), beef entrecaute (medium), 2 lasagnas and 1 chicken soup, 1 bottle of red wine and a bottle of water, about 10 min water and wine have arrived. About another 15 min after another waiter have brought our cuttlery. Reasonably good expirience ended there.

Chapter one: WAITING TIME. It took 1 hour since the moment we have placed an order, not since when we've arrived, not since we've sat down, since the moment we have placed our order, ONE HOUR for: soup, two lasagnas (which came with some sides of fries, later about those) (both of the dishes are kind of the dishes that are prepeared in advance) and two steaks.

Chapter two: THE FOOD. Chicken soup and two lasagnas arrived first. Chicken soup in reality was curry coulored garlic broth, which, by all means, had other ingridients, but every single thing in that broth tasted like garlic... AND I MEAN EVERYTHING!

Lasagna were served with a side of fries, that had strange grey colour and were soggy, lasagna itself was made with marinara? sauce and they have sprinkled some more oregano on top, lasagna sheets were pretty much disintegrated...

Two fillet steaks... (which were supposed to be an entrecote and a fillet steak). So called entrecote a.k.a fillet steak was well done and not medium... the peppercorn sauce had mushrooms in it and was cooked medium. We told a waiter that there is a mistake and we have not ordered two fillet steaks but 1 entrecote and 1fillet steak with peppercorn sauce, his answer was well entecote fillet it is the same thing... ok... "But what about mushrooms in peppercorn sauce?"-we have asked. And the waiter said couple of minutes and we will re-make your dish... what he ment was: couple of minutes and we will scrape off those mushrooms from your steak and make it look like nothing ever happend, because when they have brought it back there were still some mushrooms underneeth the fillet. Which is a very dangerous thing, if some one is allergic to mushrooms, because non of the ingridients and none of the allergens are listed on the menu.

My son ate some of the lasagna, the other lasagna stayed pretty much untouched, i really tried two have some of the garlic broth, but could not have more than few spoons, meat was eaten... wich was ok, according to my husbant and my father-in-law, just was not cooked right.

So FINALE: two almost untouched dishes stayed on the table for a good half an hour, with at least 4 waiter walking around and nobody have noticed that 2 out of 5 people are not eating, for some reason. Eventually we were asked by the waitress whether everything is ok, our reply was that the soup was unedeble and lasagna was not tasty. Plates were taking away from our table... 10 minutes after as nothing have happened (not an appology, not even a little bit of an interest from the chef or the owner), we have asked for the bill. Which arrived with 4 shots of some descriptions and 3 heart-shaped lollypops, which i assume were the Dragon's pub way to appologise, as nothing was told as those things were brought to us. We paid, we stood up and left. The END.

THE MORAL of the story, is simple as usual....check out reviews before you go to...

We popped in to the restaurant to grab a drink and the waitress with black hair came over with a face like a slapped * and asked what we wanted she didn't say hello kiss my * nothing to us no smile just a miserable woman. We ordered and waited for our drinks, well waiting we were looking at the menu looking what they do and she came with the drinks and pointed to the menu and I said "no not now"but as I was saying "but we will come later" she snatched the menu away from me and walked off. Rude. While sitting drinking our drinks I was watching her serving other people and she didn't once smile at anyone or try chat to people nothing she was vial and very rude that is why we won't be eating there. They really need to put her in the back washing dishes she isn't a very nice woman. We have no idea what the food was like as we didn't...

Had a lunch there today with my wife and wouldnt recommend anyone to go there for the food. Worst meal I had in a long time. Ordered fish plater for 2 people all the fish was dry,overfried and unspiced with no taste and afterwards we had problem with our stomach...only positive thing about that wad the guy in front of bar who is getting people to go in he was friendly and nice, most of other stuff is not polite and very unfriendly. As well with fish plater for 2 we got a portion of potatos not even enough for one person and we didnt get any bread with fish. As the bar on the island and sea side they should know that fish is always served with bread cause of small bones... all together wouldnt recommend to anyone except for drinks as drinks are all the same everywhere and for sure wont be...
