Sakura Tiepanyaki — Restaurant in San Miguel de Abona

Wow, Jimmy thank you!!

We’ve been coming to Golf del Sur for over 20 years and Jimmys as the family call it has been a firm favourite on the list of Go to restaurants all those years.

We usually go first night on landing as they’re open late and you know it’s going to be epic!

We went twice this holiday,

First night, we had veggie & salmon sushi to start, amazingly fresh and flavoursome, (tip from the main man on the wasabi: mix it in the soy sauce and then dip the sushi a little bit for little heat and longer for more!)

Then crispy shredded beef, egg fried rice, Red Thai curry and the Duck and pancakes for mains.

With a bottle of Vinasol, two strongbows and large bottle of water, all for less than 60 Euros,

Second time was 6 nights in and we went a bit more crazy for the Sushi, we let Jimmy choose and he brought out the cucumber & salmon one we had previously along with loads of the other options, including the California one…all fantastic!

Mains this time was fillet steak, mixed veg and rice from the tepanyaki, crispy shredded beef and the Duck and pancakes (so good the first time our Daughter had to have it again!) followed by fried ice cream cooked at the table!

Amazing experience for the whole family and the tastiest food on the Golf!!

My wife found a sharp piece of plastic in her meal, about 1cm in a triangle shape. We complained and the staff were apologetic and offered something to replace it. We said ok but surprisingly they brought a chicken dish to us to compliment the one we already had ??? A chicken dish was one of the courses of our original dish! ... Crazy. However, we just put up with it . We were again surprised when the manager charged us the full price of the set meal even though he had removed two servings because of the foreign object! My wife was very indignant and finally he grabbed €6 from the till, rudely pushed it in her hand and said "six euro to you..,bye". Very very bad attitude.

The experience of eating there was also feeling very rushed, the restaurant was full and very busy, the staff were running with food and dishes and sometimes running past us with noisy trolleys , it was like rush hour at Piccadilly station! Not a pleasant experience and we will not go back. Dreadful! Especially poor customer care considering the object my wife found...

The restaurant refused to issue a regular receipt despite a request, only an invoice for a company is possible, not a receipt for a private customer. The price of the restaurant is cheap, which is good, but the quality of the food is low and the portions are not large (the use of the microwave should be avoided in a professional restaurant). The service is very slow, I could see tables waiting more than 10 minutes to place an order or having to wait 15 minutes to pay! ps the cleanliness... the staff should pay more attention, or should start doing so, to cleanliness. REVIEW: restaurant absolutely not recommended, may be acceptable for those tourists used to low standards, if you want to eat well and be served decently, don't come here!
