Churreria Santa Lucía — Restaurant in San Sebastián

This was such a nice find for us. We were looking for a place to get breakfast when we ran into this churreria. For 8 euros, we got two coffees, two croissants and a portion of churros. The churros and chocolate here are excellent - we have eaten them here 3 different times in San Sebastian for breakfast. The churros are fresh and hot, right out of the fryer so they haven't been sitting around all day, and the chocolate is thick, hot, delicious, and not too sweet. Certains avis assez tranchés quant à l'accueil et la qualité des plats proposés laissent perplexe ! A en croire ceux-ci, ces personnes pensaient tomber dans un café haute couture.

En entrant ici on sait très bien ce qu'on vient chercher : un lieu pour un (petit) déjeuner économique et qui sort de l'ordinaire (les churros de bon matin, pour ma part c'est pas commun), avec une ambiance cafétéria atypique semblant s'inspirer des diners à l'américaine.

Il est évident que les produits ne sont pas réalisés sur place (gaufres, cake et compagnie), même la pâte à churros on en sait rien ... D'un côté à un tel tarif ... ! Mais qu'à cela ne tienne, on vient ici pour un petit en-cas café/churros sans complexes le matin avant de reprendre la suite de notre visite du vieux Saint-Sébastien. Les churros restent tout à fait bons pour ce genre d'établissement ; je conçois que le chocolat est absolument industriel et en ce sens très décevant.

Y aller en connaissance de cause éviterait à certains bien des déconvenues. L'adresse reste intéressante pour une pause sucrée/salée rapide entre...
