Woeful. On so many levels.

Menu has no descriptions. Just the name of the dish, that's it. I thought it may be because we translated the menu from Spanish to English, but even the Spanish menu had zero info. It's very much a lottery. A lottery I felt we lost.

We ordered all our dishes at the same time. First up was "crushed potatoes with mojo sauce". They were thrown down on the table. No sauce offered. Had to request some sort of sauce twice with waiting staff. These potatoes looked like pebbles you'd see on Brighton beach.

Also ordered were "chickpeas". In the vegetarian section, but contained a ton of meat.

Also ordered were "aubergines in honey". This actually came as expected, so congratulations to the restaurant for that.

Lastly, we ordered "garlic prawns". The prawns themselves were OK. But the oil they came in was more like motor oil than olive oil. Really grim stuff.

Nothing tasted fresh. It was grim.

When the plates were cleared, the waiter was confused as to why we had left so much. I explained that it really didn't taste great etc. He half-heartedly apologised, promised to talk to the chef, and went off from our table with some of the plates. This waiter never emerged again to finish clearing our table. This tells you everything you need to know!

This was also the most expensive meal we had in 8 days in Tenerife.

Woeful restaurant, woeful service, shocking food, shocking value.

Avoid...

Don't ever go there. Just don't. This restaurant is a huge tourist trap. They are referenced in some travel guides (probably from sponsoring) and are abusing this position.

What they do is barely legal from my point of view. It's clearly written in their menu that the taxes (IGIC) are included in the price, but they will still add 7% of taxes on the final bill (see attached photos for proof). Also if you look at the price the "calamares asado" is more expensive on the bill than on the menu. (That's not even counting the added tax)

You'll also have to pay 1€ for each loaf of bread (literally the basket that's on the table at the beginning is 4€), and 2.10€ for the 50cl water bottle.

I'm not even mentioning the fact that every cheap dishes we tried to order was "unavailable", and instead they recommended us with the 16€ (2* more expensive than any other fish on the menu) fish that is not even on the menu. (note : when we ordered and asked for the exact price, the waiter coulnd't give us one and said it was around 14-15. It was 15.95 without taxes...

BE AWARE OF A SCAM. But first the food- Hierbita octopus/pulpo was the best we ever had 10/10. Prawns were also delicious.10/10 Eggplant with honey was delicious but very sweet, more a dessert. It was missing some salt. Chickpeas are NOT vegan or vegetarian. It has chicken in it so be aware. But it was delicious.More like a chickpea soup. Now for the service, people working there are very fast (maybe a little too fast),there is one person that speaks English a little bit. Hard to get a table but if you come before 20:30 you will be able to get one.It takes FOREVER to get the bill. And when you get the bill be aware of the SCAM. They give you a wrong bill (more expensive one) or they put one more thing on the bill.Check the bill WELL.If you don't speak Spanish google every thing on the menu. This happened to us TWICE.And to two tables around us.Yes we came again even though they tried to scam us because the octopus was delicious lol.
