We went to the capital city, since we found it difficult to find a non touristic place in the south with good local food or tapas. When we were strolling around, we saw this cute restaurant, with only local people sitting there. They had no menu, but the waiter was really nice. We asked for local dishes, small portions and some tapas. He offered to give us typical Canarian dishes. In the end we received as a starter deep fried fish and deep fried cheese. It was way too heavy and too much (we were a couple, not a group of beer drinking friends). As a main course we got a big plate with deep fried fish, French fries, tomato and avocado (avocado was not ripe) and Canarian potatoes. It looked not bad, but looked like a typical tourist dish which you see all over in the south. It was mainly a lot and just too much deep fried food for our liking. Maybe nice to eat before you go drinking with friends. We couldn’t eat it and decided to ask for the bill. A pity, the owner was nice and looking at the other tables they do sell more sophisticated dishes. I would give it a try, just make sure to be clear on your...
Read moreThe service wasn't bad .the waitress was very helpful and friendly.Unfortunately the food was not up to standard. No real physical menu. I can understand the other reviews feeling ripped off.if you don't know the prices .it's easily to be charged more .especially if you are a tourist . I ordered entrecot (sirloin steak) it came very poor and with two pieces of red pepper. No salad .No chips .for 9 euros.poor quality and too much salt .they didn't even ask me how I wanted the steak .the pork was supposed to be for two persons. Evidently only enough for one .they only had papas arrugadas (wrinkled potatoes. )which is fine for a guanchinche (typical canarian restaurant ) but then fried with mojo sauce .for a steak .please .this it too much .I really hope the owners read the reviews. Because if they don't change and the reviews stay the same .I can't see them being...
Read moreWhat's wrong with this place? Apparently almost everything. I should read the other's reviews so I wouldn't bothered myself for coming there. Medium/small salad + chicken with frites = €26. I was expecting quality or at least size of the portions when you call yourself "guachinche". I'd like to support independent businesses but shame on you for the performance! The salad, what an absolute joke. Half of its volume was tiny cubes chopped bread. Couple of veg leaves, dressing, cheese and something I couldn't identify. Then the chicken dish. It was totally overcooked, hard, dry. I couldn't finish even the second bit. Staff unprofessional. Two stars for the fun of picking up the bread cubes from the salad (it tooks me 40 minutes) and good fried potatoes. Have you considered to change your restaurant for fine dining one...
