LA CANTINA AZTECA — Restaurant in Santander

Absolutely delicious, no questions. I would probably only suggest more for the price. Also, why doesn't the plate come with Mexican rice and beans? I ordered the mole poblano, or chicken mole as they called it. It came with white rice, which isn't unheard of. But most Mexican dishes almost always come with a side of Mexican rice and refried beans, and cheese all over the beans. I miss that. And if you guys decide to, please remember refried beans and chili beans are different, the normal is refried beans.

I wanted to order a michelada, but I am skeptical about the quality. Although they have an excellent quality selection of Mexican beers, I ended up getting a regular margarita. It was good, but too margaritas shouldn't be blended unless asked because it depletes from the flavor and alcohol. Most people don't realize that they must place the alcohol in before the ice. So it ended up being very sweet and very little tequila flavor. Also, I they are supposed to be sweet AND SOUR. If you can taste it sugar instead of a healthy salty & sweet balance, it's no good. I like tequila, very much 🤓

So with the exception of drinks needing a little tune up, and maybe a few menu considerations, this place is a fine hidden jewel of Santander. Probably the best Mexican food I've had living in Spain. Bravo,...

De momento he asistido por 3era vez con lo cual en esta tercera visita he quedado descontenta y unas de mis características es decir las cosas tal cual como son y en mi manera de ver dar los puntos de críticas es para que traten de mejorar y dar algo hecho con amor y no por arrebato, me encanta la comida mexicana aún hay algunos que otros por probar se que cada país tiene su sazón pero es algo que tiene que continuar la línea

1era visita ordenamos Tacos al pastor 1 orden Tacos dorados de pollo Quesadillas de carnes Bebidas Mahou sin alcohol Tamarindo (ni parecido al de la fruta)

2da visita ordenamos 3 de tacos al pastor 3 de cochinita pibil 4 quesadillas de carne 1 burrito de ternera 4 margaritas 2 copas de vino Agua de jamaica Agua de Tamarindo ( ningún cambio desde el primer comentario que se le hizo al camarero)

3era visita ordenamos 3 ordenes de Tacos de cochinita pibil (Estaban muy jugosos y parecían más una carne cocida con agua y sal sin ningún tipo de sofrito o sazon) 4 quesadillas de carnes 1burrito de ternera 1 agua de Tamarindo (Sin ningún cambio) 1 jarrita de mandarina 1 jarrita de mango

The food is exceptional. We loved the quesadillas but the enmoladas were quite something - savoury but sweet, and also a bit spicy. Definitely something worth trying. The service can be improved.
