BISTRO' 22 — Restaurant in Santiago del Teide

Not great. 4 of us came here for food one evening and we will never go back. Whilst the quality of the food itself isn't bad, 3 out of 4 ordered steak well-done. All 3 steaks were very rare. Obviously when visiting a different country you expect the food to be different, but in every other restaurant nearby that we tried, the meat was cooked to the liking of the paying customer.

I brought in 2 plates, because the waiter wasn't inclined to hang around and make sure we were OK, so I took them back and asked kindly if they could please cook the steaks for longer. If they were on the pan again for 2 minutes I'd be surprised! They were still there with the watery myoglobin running out of them, my parents ate what they could and no more, after going back into the kitchen.

A couple left in the meantime as they were waiting to be served, the waiter sarcastically waved at them and told them to have a good holiday (we should have left too)

Then I had to ask twice for the bill, the waiter said "relax, you're on holiday" that didn't mean I didn't want to be somewhere else! All the other restaurants we visited gave us sweets with the bill or maybe shots of honeyed rum, but this crowd rather, added a service charge at the end and didn't even apologise for not being able to cook a steak!

If they had spent as long cooking the steak as it took to give us the bill, it might have been somewhat decent!

If you like a rare steak, a sarcastic waiter who is selectively slow, then this is the place for you.

There's plenty of other nice restaurants, namely El Pescador, Jardim Del Sol and Mijia very nearby, those are fabulous restaurants with very friendly staff!

I wouldn't waste my money here. My pizza...

If you are looking for a restaurant with excellent food, professional service and a wonderful view, this is Cafe Bistro 22.

My fiancée and I visited this place in mid-April and went back there many times. Service is about more than waiters bringing food and drinks. They take care of the guests' needs, know the menu perfectly and if you don't know what to choose, just rely on their recommendations, you will not be disappointed. The standards they use are of the highest class. The dishes are always perfectly presented, the chef Giuseppe is the right man in the right place. He perfectly understands the principle that "you also eat with your eyes" and the heart he puts into the preparation of meals only pays off with the delight of the eater. Thank you is too little... In addition, delicious coffee, great desserts and this view...you could sit there for hours.

We would like to thank the whole team with all our hearts: Valeria, Mauro, Giuseppe, Stefano - we love you and we will come back one day. You made our stay special and magical ❤️

Don't waste your time. What a disappointment. we've been here two years ago and the experience was amazing back then, even so that we were returning for more during our 5 days here. The service was friendly and we got a gourmet experience ordering tapas like squid and fish. Now: half of the menu is not available (no pizzas, no tapas after 6pm - which was in fact available in the racion portion but we learned that from listening to the waiter telling other customers after we have ordered main courses instead. The service was slow but they tried to make it seem friendly while also admitting to not having tapas because it's not making them enough money (interestingly we spent the same amount 2 years ago on tapas trying to taste everything). The pasta with meatballs was 17 euros but the meatballs were half breadcrumbs and the tomato sauce was just that, supermarket tomato sauce with onions. To be fair, the dorada was OK, hence the two stars instead of one. I'm super disappointed since I was recommeding this place for friends coming to visit....
