Poggetto — Restaurant in Santiago del Teide

Mixed opinion on the experience which i would rate overall with a 3. The service was good and attentive. The location is on average with the restaurant offers in the neighborhood. Talking about dishes. We tried two different pastas dishes and one shared fish dish. Paccheri with nduja and burrata ended up being a nice choice. Well cooked, fresh ingredients and fantastic sauce. A good 4. Then, we tried a special pasta dish of the day. Based on “spaghettone” and fried octopus. Honestly, kind of delusional. Octopus was chewy, taste was not clear, and everything ended up being a not enjoyable dish. (Here, i need to add that for the sake of honesty I felt not so good soon after dinner till bedtime. My bet would be the octopus was not in its best condition). Then we closed with a tuna steak, with some cooked veggies served in the same plastic bag where they were cooked. Beyond not being a huge fan of having plastic served on the same dish of main food, the tuna was nicely cooked, but once again I wasn’t able to detect a major characterization of the fish cut. Like leaving the ingredient to speak for itself. For the sake of honesty, While writing, i’m still trying to have my stomach calmed down by a green tea. I believe there is potential, but also lot of areas need more...

⭐ Absolutely Outstanding Food & Service! ⭐

We stumbled upon this little family-run gem after reading glowing customer reviews, and wow—what a find!

Although the restaurant was busy, our wonderful host greeted us warmly with a little snack and kindly asked for a bit of patience, as she was tending to other guests who had arrived just before us. She took the time to explain that the kitchen was handling multiple orders at once, which made us appreciate the effort even more.

As we browsed the menu, everything sounded so tempting, but we finally settled on a selection of starters and mains—and what a feast it was!

Every single dish was bursting with flavor, freshly prepared, and you could taste the love and passion in every bite. We started with octopus and truffle pasta (made in-house!), followed by cod and steak for our mains.

OMFG—I’m literally drooling as I write this, just thinking about how insanely delicious it all was!

It’s rare to find a place where the food, atmosphere, and service all come together so perfectly. Seeing such a dedicated couple pouring their hearts into this restaurant was truly inspiring.

We cannot wait to return to Tenerife just to eat here again. Thank you again...

We came here without a reservation and were told there would be a waiting time, even though at least five tables were free. Eventually, the waitress showed us to a table and left. When we ordered sparkling water, the lady brought still water instead — mistakes happen, so I didn’t mind too much at first.

What was frustrating was the service afterwards. We were clearly ready to order, sitting directly in the waitress’s way, and yet the lady kept passing by multiple times without even checking on us. Instead of taking our order, the waitress focused on preparing orders for other tables she had just served, leaving us waiting far too long.

Eventually, I had to stop the lady myself to get any attention. At that point, I pointed out the wrong water and we decided to leave.

I understand the waitress was working alone, but that’s no excuse for ignoring customers who are ready to order. The service was unacceptable, and unfortunately, we won’t be...
