TL;DR: Would NOT recommend this restaurant. Horrible service with mediocre food for high prices.
Typical for any restaurant on the main square. We had no choice since it was a Saturday night and all the other smaller local restaurants were packed and we didn’t want to wait. Guess we should have realized something was up since this huge restaurant was basically empty at prime dinner time.
We were four people but we were shown to table only set for three and it took multiple times asking the wait staff for anyone to bring a fourth setting. Additionally, for some reason they also only gave us 3 bread servings. We knew we were being billed for 4 bread servings but we had to ask at least 3 times until the fourth bread serving was given. Not sure if this restaurant is trying to swindle a few euros out of customers or their wait staff are really that incompetent.
The food was extremely salty and honestly pretty mediocre for the high prices. We ordered only four dishes (roast suckling pig, fava bean soup, cod, fried squid with egg, and a bottle of red wine). The final bill was around €140 ($150 USD) which is insanely expensive for Spain. For comparison, our dinner the next night in Sergovia was only €78 ($85 USD) and we ordered more food there.
Also when we asked to box up the leftovers the wait staff dropped the bread on the ground … pretty sure they gave us the dirty bread back instead of replacing it...
Read moreNice location and atmosphere, but not good value for money. We were asked if we would like bread and I asked if they had any olive oil. The bread roll was dry and tasteless and then we were charged (for the first time ever in my many years of dining out!) for the tiny plastic pot of olive oil. A total rip off. My lamb was amazing, but besides the 4 slices of potatoes that's all you get for your €30.00. I can never understand when potatoes are so cheap, why do restaurants give you such a small amount. I suggest you try another one of the restaurants in the plaza.
Jose, in response to your reply, I would like to point out that I never mentioned that you were scammers. I was highlighting that I was for the first time in my life (of 61 years) that I was charged for olive oil and overall didn't feel your restaurant was value for money. I still feel €10.80 for 4 buns and oil is a lot. I'm glad I didn't ask for mustard or salt and pepper and wonder how much that would have added to the bill. The point of reviews is to share facts for potential customers and that...
Read moreOnly one main waitress on the terrace and during the Christmas holidays it was really busy. We had to wait like 15 min in order somebody to pay attention to us and bring us a menu. They didn't have the dishes they have put on the menu and the waitress didn't bother at all to explain and suggest something else instead (it is not our fault if we asked something from the menu and you didn't have it). In the end, they served us wrong dishes. The whole area is nice, but only good location is not enough.
Food-wise: all the meat is fried, and they bring you chips instead of...
