LA COCINA DEL TRACA — Restaurant in Seville

We went there to eat mainly because of the good reviews and were really looking forward to it. The food: sadly, it was pretty underwhelming. We ordered a “lomo bajo de vaca” which is a sliced steak with potatoes and grilled peppers. The veggies were ok, although apparently not freshly cooked but rather warmed up. The steak was lukewarm (possibly also warmed up?) and really nothing special. The only special thing about it was the sauce “mojo canario” that was really tasty. However the worst part was the petty attempts to monetize on us being tourists even though we spoke nothing but Spanish:

1. trying to charge us for the bread that we did not order and did not eat.
2. not asking about the drink size and just bringing the comically large and most expensive ones. (They did ask the locals every time)

TLDR: disappointing experience

Edit: Dear La Cocina del Traca team, I did not in any way imply we did pay for the bread. The issue is however that you did try to charge us for something we did not order and only after pointing it out you took it out of the check. This is not a fair practice as I see it and calling it a lie is not helping. Regarding objectivity: this review reflects my subjective experience on that particular day and sadly it just was...

They got my beef order wrong. I ordered medium, it came rare — almost blue. Cut of meat was 1/4 fat, the lean parts were tough and tasteless. Also an oven grilled steak, not charcoal grilled.

Interior upholstered chairs were dingy and very old. Hence, sat at patio, (even though it was hot outside) as the patio chairs do not have the same dingy fabric.

Menu has some changes (some of the items/photos in past Google reviews are not available) and the current menu is very limited.

Extremely poor choice for dinner. Owner disputed that I confused his restaurant with another, hence I posted the bill...

The pulled pork sandwich didn't have the BBQ flavor I had hoped for, but since they melted aged cheddar on it, it wasn't a traditional pork sandwich. It still tasted above average.

The ensalada de aguacate ranks in the top 3 salads I've ever eaten, even though the aguacate could have been a little riper for my taste.

Super service and a Brooklyn atmosphere. I say that because the feeling I had eating there reminded me of my years in NYC.
