My visit to Manolo Mayo turned out to be an ordeal I'd rather erase from memory. From the moment I stepped in, the atmosphere was unwelcoming. The staff seemed disinterested, barely acknowledging our presence, which was a red flag from the start. However, we decided to give it a chance, hoping that the food would make up for the lack of hospitality.
As we were seated, I noticed a few instances where the manager rudely interacted with other customers, some of whom were asked to leave shortly after being seated without any apparent reason. This should have been our cue to exit, but we stayed, a decision I would soon regret.
The menu was varied, and we ordered what we hoped would be a decent meal. Unfortunately, the food was far below expectations. Not only was it presented in a careless manner, but the taste was also disappointing. However, the worst part of the experience came after the meal.
Within hours of eating, I began to feel extremely unwell, showing classic signs of food poisoning. The situation escalated quickly, requiring a visit to the hospital for treatment. It was a frightening experience, one that was directly linked to the meal I had at the restaurant.
Reflecting on the visit, the combination of poor service, the manager's rudeness, and the severe health issues that followed makes it clear that dining at the restaurant was a mistake. It's an experience I would strongly advise others to avoid, ensuring they don’t have to endure the...
Read moreI walked in by myself because my wife wasn't well. At 7pm, there wasn't anyone, but the waiter told me that every table was reserved and asked me if I would sit at the bar. I wasn't too happy about it thinking that I was mistreated since I was by myself. Then I thought about the great reviews and decided to stay for the food at least. I am so glad that I did because the waiter soon put reserved sign on every table including the sidewalk. So he wasn't lying. I ordered ham croquettes and cod loin. Both were fabulous. Then a soy cappuccino to finish. All that plus a big bottle of spring water came to 37.5 Euro. By the time I left, only one table showed up. Guess they eat late here and for hours so restaurants don't allow others to sit in unlike table turning in the US where the manager would pace back and forth in front of you to remind you that you have overstayed your welcome. So here you can relax and enjoy the great food and...
Read moreMayo was a pleasant surprise. My friends and I just got to Hotel Becquer and saw this place. It was probably the best meal I had in Spain... The service was unbelievable. Everyone was super attentive and shared little tidbits like the tomatoes came frmo the owner's family's farm... The vegetables were fresh as can be... really loved the tomato tuna salad. We also had the tuna sashimi, scallops, iberico paella and the steak. Everything was melt in your mouth food. The scallops were so juicy and flavorful, steak cooked to perfection... also comes with fries and shisito peppers. We came during late afternoon when we basically had the restaurant to ourselves. If you're in Seville, please give this amazing spot a shot. I found it far better that El...
