To preface my review, I've never been here for brunch; I'm reviewing about the speciality Greek dinner from Friday, July 18th. My partner and I reserved a table earlier in the week and attended last night, but had a rather disappointing experience.
In the advertisement, it stated there would be a variety of authentic foods and drinks to choose from, including things like pita souvlaki, Greek salad, Greek beer & wine, etc. and that the event would start from 20:30. That day, we got a message that stated the event would start from 21:15. We arrived a few minutes after 21:15 and everyone working seemed a bit preoccupied and we were not greeted for an awkward minute until we asked them where we should sit for our reservation. Then, they directed us to a chalk board that showed what they were offering tonight and told us that the dolmadakia was not available. If the dinner is starting at 21:15 and the dolmadakia is already not available, why is it still written on the board? Attached you can see the board with the very limited offerings.
When we sat down, we discussed what to order, but felt really uncomfortable because we felt deceived from the advertisement for the Greek dinner vs. what was actually offered. There was not even an option for the pita souvlaki which I thought was the main dish that would be available. My partner got up to order and got the attention of a server who then came over to our table so we could order. He confirmed with her again, showing the picture I took of the chalk board, to double check that those items listed were the only food they were offering and she said yes. So we ended up ordering the salad and the hummus (which were more so appetizers than a dinner...).
I have a couple critiques about both. The Greek salad was missing olives, which in my understanding, is essential for a Greek salad. And for the hummus, I liked the olive paste on top of the hummus, but we saw the hummus was prepackaged...And to conclude about the critiques, both were very overpriced for what was received. We paid almost 23€ for the salad, hummus, one pita bread, and one beer. I can think of many other Mediterranean restaurants in the city that are selling house made hummus for around 4-5€ and salads for around 9-10€.
Feeling disappointed in the experience, we didn't order anything else. Upon paying at the front, we then noticed that the staff were offering and serving the pita souvlaki to other customers. This was the dish we originally thought was going to be offered per the advertisement of the dinner. At that point, we were even more upset about the lack of communication and service that we just wanted to leave.
I'm sorry to write this review, but I really feel that there should have been more organization and communication to execute this Greek dinner so customers can enjoy this unique experience as there are no Greek restaurants in Seville. The space is very cute and has a lot of potential, but I was expecting a lot more based on the advertisement (and for the prices that were being charged!).
EDIT after owner’s response: After reading the response given back to me, it’s a shame that this business responds with this tone. If given a more polite and understanding response by being transparent about their failures during the night, I still would’ve been open to returning to try their brunch. However, at this point, I definitely won’t be returning nor recommending to my community in the city. Overall I want to emphasize that when we asked the server if this is ALL that they are offering and she said YES, how are we supposed to know we can order the souvlaki? And I’d like to invite everyone to search Greek salad on google and see that it comes with olives and it was obviously forgotten on ours because the business posted pictures of other Greek salads from that night with olives. Unnecessary attitude...
Read moreHonestly, very disappointed: 5eur for a “juice of the day” served in a small 200ml glass with 2-3 ice cubes which was barely making 150ml. It was extremely overpriced toast with figs and apples/hummus: they gave 1 bread slice with super thin layer of hummus, thin apple slices and fig topped with another bread on the top (no spread on it, no oil, no hummus) it was the driest sandwich I have ever had. 😅 Paid 27e overall for 2 tiny juices, 1 dark coffee, horrible toast and a bagel that my friend said was “ok” - super overpriced for the quality. I know at least 5 breakfast places around where for this price I go out happy. I was attracted by good reviews but I won’t be back.
We had to immediately change the table as it was moving so much it was impossible to eat on it. They only told us they are closing 6min before shutting down, I had 2 full drinks that I had to rush cause they started to take dishes and rush everyone to shut the place.
They don’t serve other eggs than boiled. So if you choose it for breakfast,...
Read moreThe place is very small with nowhere to sit and was empty at 10am on a Sunday, only 3 people sitting, two girls behind the bar busy doing coffees. You sit where you like, there’s no table service I was told. I ordered an orange juice, small bottle of water and the large turkey ham sandwich: 12 euros. Food is bad, the sandwich is small, one (literally) slice of ham cut in two, some jam, some scattered seeds and a leaf of salad. No music, loads of chairs left packed at the entrance, no space to sit as the place is tiny, quick and rude service and left as hungry as I arrived. Find yourself a better option somewhere else. (The fork in the photo is a dessert fork so you understand how small that sandwich was) PS: the menu is just mostly vegetarian sandwiches and bowls.
Update: read the owner’s answer and you will understand why I am complaining. Peace and...
