Himalaya Restaurant — Restaurant in Tías

It is my humble opinion, but for anyone seeking an authentic Indian Curry, both Restaurants Himilaya and Everest on the Strip in PDC are by far, head and shoulders above the rest. They are sister Restaurants owned and run by the same family. The quality of the dishes is simply amazing. Portion sizes will not disappointed the hungriest diner. The staff are lovely, friendly and attentive without being over fussy. They are happy to explain everything and offer any dish to the spice level that suits your palette - be warned, ask for hot-hot and be prepared 🥵 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶. Ate last night at Himilaya and for a change, ordered two starters and shared a main of Special Tandoori Mixed Grill together with Garlic Naans, a Vindaloo Sauce and Mixed Salad... OMG - as can be seen, it is served on a sizzling skillet, piled high on a bed of mixed onions, peppers and red cabbage... We are good eaters but struggled to finish the dish... My wife and I had a fantastic time at The Himalaya last night. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff set the stage for an amazing dining experience.

We kicked off with some tasty poppadoms and Himalayan herb pakora, which was a delightful start to our meal. The main dishes were the chefs Himalayan chicken and lamb tikka sizzler which were bursting with authentic Indian flavours – a real treat for our taste buds.

The staff at The Himalaya were extremely welcoming. Their service added to the overall enjoyment of our evening.

Best Indian food in Puerto del Carmen Lanzarote. Although the restaurant is Nepalese good selection of Nepalese and Indian dishes. The staff are very good pleasant and helpful.

Unfortunately due to the lockdown seems the chefs have changed and so has the food which is a shame, I’ve lived on the island for 16 years and this was once the best, I wouldn’t eat there again unless I heard good things in the future, I have friends that live near the restaurant and said they wouldn’t return after having 2 bad takeaways !!!!
