Pteviously couldn't fault them, good food, service, requests always accommodated and little extras for special occasions eg a dessert with Happy Birthday, birthday confetti on table etc, we know it can be quite expensive but was worth it for food and the experience however this time was so very different and We had booked a table by the window and also stated when booking it was for a special birthday booking, a window table has never been an issue previously when requested at time of booking but was told the window table would depend, birthday & window table were noted When we arrived there was a queue of walkins not an issue but we didn't get a welcome hello or anything were just told to wait at the side, we were then given a complimentary glass of cava & after a minute or to shown to our table it wasn't a window seat as requested, there were quite a few empty tables by the window. No one came and asked us if we'd like drinks but after a wait someone appeared with menus gave them to us then walked off still no one asking if we'd like drinks, someone then came and told us the specials. After another wait someone asked us if we'd chosen our order which we gave them, starters, mains and would we like bread which we said yes to we then had to ask if we could order some drinks to as no one had taken or asked if we wanted our drinks order was taken. After another wait we were brought the complimentary item which they always give you, small crackers with 2 dips, this is meant to be an appetiser before your next course but at the same time that was brought out we were given our bread & starters so everything arrived at once, still no drinks appeared after another wait our drinks finally appeared. Starters were underwhelming a d could be a healthy risk. One was sweet potato fritters, husband said the texture was odd. I had ordered (wording from the menu) Assortment of local cheeses from Lanzarote, prickly pear and black fig jam, and toasted corn bread but thats not what I got it was a nice selection of cheeses a small portion of some sort of jam a few grapes, the plate was covered in various nuts & seeds which is an absolute no and not stated anywhere on the menu (at no time were we asked if we had any allergies) underneath the cheese was loads of whole red peppercorns which had to be picked off and no toasted cornbread but tiny crackers the same as the complimentary starter, so small as designed for dipping so couldn't put cheese on them so basically just a plate of cheese. Our main course came quickly after our plates were cleared, we both ordered Rib eye steak, peppercorn sauce, chips & veg and my partner got extra chips. The chips you got about 5 or 6 in a tiny bowl they didn't taste homemade which you'd expect in a restaurant of this calibre and the veg consisted of ½ a cherry tomato, 1 small piece of red pepper, 1 small piece of green pepper and a small piece of corn on the cob no thicker than 1 cm thick. The peppercorn sauce was more like a gravy with whole peppercorns added. At no point did anyone check if our food was OK. we realised when the bill came the 5 or 6 chips cost an extra €2.10 on top of the €24.50! The portion of extra chips was generous. After this we asked for the bill, thinking they'd bring out the complimentary item for my husband but this didn't happen and he wasn't even wished a Happy Birthday as on previous occasions. The bill arrived and it was €112 The extra chips were another €4 they should have explained the chips in main were not included so we could have just got the one portion of extra chips I also don't know how they can charge €2.10 for 5/6 chips yet €4 for a separate huge bowl. So we paid €112 for potato fritters, cheese. 2 rib eye steaks, peppercorn sauce, chips, 2 beers a gin and tonic & a coke. There was also someone vaping on the table opposite us the waiters knew as it happened when they were at table didn't think it was allowed inside restaurants

Having watched the place be transformed over the last three years and seen the fb build up and pictures after opening, we decided we would give it a try. We arrived at about 9pm to a very under filled restaurant having walked along the strip and seen many full restaurants. We didn't have a booking but after a few minutes waiting at the host stand a chap came over and found us a table over looking the street. He left menus and went away. We waited a further 15 minutes for him to return to take drink and food orders. We ordered starters, mains and a bottle of wine. A waiter soon returned with an offering of bread, 2 rolls, 1 white, 1 granary and some butter. My wife opted for the granary leaving me with the white. Both rolls had clearly been in the bread warmer all night as were now rock hard. The truffle butter rock solid! We asked for some balsamic to go with the olive oil and were served some amazing olive oil and balsamic. The starters soon arrived, delicious, the beef carpaccio was perfect with delish garnish, my local baked cheese with bacon lardons and warm pineapple chutney was fab. Cheese gently softened and the perfect amount of bacon and chutney. Looking forward to the main now, Karen opted for mussels which she described as the best she had ever eaten on the island, some praise as she eats lots of mussels. I opted for the Lamb baklava, rather large and served simply with jus and mint sauce. Was offered chips as a side which I declined. Meat was tasty but half way through was bored as had no potato or vegetable. I opted for the strawberry tiramisu dessert special and wished I hadn't, had clearly been in the fridge a few days, had a biscuit base and very tired strawberries on top, clearly been the cheesecake for a couple of days. Bill totalled €109, which we paid and left. Would we return? Probably as the wife enjoyed her meal, but feel it needs some work on it, lacked atmosphere, staff attentive but not over the top, wondering if PDC has enough people to fill this sort of 200c restaurant.

Comical is possibly the best word to describe Serenity. We went for post dinner drinks and after accending the seemingly endless stairway to heaven we discovered it was far from heavenly or "serine". This rooftop wind tunnel is more like somewhere you would test a Formula One car's aerodynamics, with no windblocks the evening breeze cuts right through. The decor seemed rather lackluster in an attempt to be something that it clearly was not. A "Serenity" display case with a lone bottle or Remy Martin, not a rare, old or expensive one, just your bog standard one available in any off licence for €40. We persevered despite the sound of the solo violinist managing to source out all the wrong notes as he improvised excerts from the Bridgerton sound track (but he did manage to nail his Coldplay covers) The drinks arrived and by the time I stopped laughing at my "Mojito Cubano Premium" looking more like a snowcone (enough to make a Cuban cringe) I realised the mound of ice was melting quicker than I could drink it and covering me knees and feet as it dropped thought the table. I had to ask the staff to remove the ice for me. My wife's drink, which was a non alcoholic cocktail, came not only garnish but with an overpowering taste of grapefruit which was not mentioned on the menu in relation to this drink at all. Overall it was a rather underwhelming experience and I don't think we'll be back. It seems a place attempting to be something it isn't, a failed attempt to be classy. The assumption could be made seeing the Lani's name on the building would mean something but Serenity did not live up to the expectation or legacy of this well established brand.

We visited serenity last New Year's Eve. It was the first time that Serenity had hosted the event. The service was slow and we were served our dinner at 1am in the morning despite our table being booked at 8pm the evening before!! The food was good and champagne, wines and spirits were included in the 140 euro fee, so we gave them a second chance this year.

No champagne, just cheap Prosecco, no spirits, so nothing to drink that I fancied unless I paid even more money. Not even a glass of quality fizz on arrival. No warm welcome, no NYE atmosphere.

The first course was foie gras, the pate was sloppy inside and the outside resembled a spring roll, which was as tough as a brick and inedible. The second course was lobster Thermidor and the tomalley (internal organ) had not been removed, so there was revolting green gunge on our plates.

The main course was lamb shank again, it was half the size of last year, but the portion size would still have been sufficient, if the first two course were edible, but even that was not cooked properly and my husband's was overcooked on the outside and raw nearer the bone.

The pudding was pure slop, Xmas pudding and what looked like cream out of a can, so needless to say not what we expected.

At 140 euros per head, you expect a sophisticated fine dining experience, not rushed slop. The only saving grace was a lovely gentleman called David, who was simply a pleasure. He totally understood what I was saying and then did everything he could to make the experience as nice as possible, but he was young and powerless.

Our table had no party poppers or blowers but some did, the service was slightly better, but over all no finesse, no manners, not welcoming. The waitresses were very sweet but very rushed.

We had spend over 1500euros between 7 of us, for food that would have been better from one off the cheap bistros on the strip.

I went to the same manager that I approached last year and he was plain rude. I explained that we had returned because we'd seen how much effort they'd put into it the first year and that we wanted to give them another chance, but this had happened again.

He said I remember you, but everyone else is happy. This simply was not the case because I was speaking to a couple that was sat behind us and they said that it was a lot of money for not the most pleasant experience and that the food was atrocious and left early.

We have to be mindful that Lanzerote is very cheap to eat compared to England and 30 euros for a main meal is at the high end, but 140e is a severely high premium.

However I have been very ill so we thought money is immaterial, let's do something special and create a really nice NYE memory, but it was just a really unpleasant experience.

To add insult to injury, we went to the roof top to bring in the new year and they had sold tickets for 25 euros so there was a shortage of chairs so we were eventually hoofed into the corner, where we spent more money.

The display was a few fireworks at Serenity's expense, but it was very pleasant because the firework display from the San Antonio hotel was marvellous, despite being some distance

The next morning I rang serenity because your success is only based on your last review and I wanted to give them the opportunity to put things right. I wasn't looking for a refund, but I do think some reimbursement would have been fair.

Serenity didn't even return my call, which is what I expected after the bad attitude I received from the rude manager.

I do usually love eating at Lanis, but I wouldn't even go there again now and my friends who go there regularly have said the same.

Some reviews on here seem excellent, but then they are commenting on a meal that probably cost 30 euros per head, not 140 euros per head and for that you do expect...

Myself and my partner have visited PDC previously and were extremely looking forward to visiting Serenity on our recent trip. We walked past and were thoroughly impressed with the place, I can’t deny the fact that it is definitely eye catching and extremely impressive. We however were sceptical about visiting for food/drinks as I have seen many negative reviews. We chose to ignore them as we thought a place of this standard surely can’t be that bad… WE WERE WRONG.

We arrived about 8:30/9pm and walked in and the first thing we heard was a couple complaining about their food not being hot enough. This instantly put us off eating but we continued up to the roof top terrace for some drinks. The huge terrace and lit up cocktail bar looked unreal, absolutely amazing. We were greeted by one member of staff who was very welcoming, explained they had “the best Spanish cocktail maker there is” working behind the bar. The drinks menu definitely is on the pricey side, looking about €10/11 a cocktail but again we didn’t mind because we could appreciate the high end standard and of course the views were unbeatable.

We ordered one frozen strawberry daiquiri and a strawberry mojito. Drinks took about 10 minutes which was surprising considering there was only a handful of people up there. Then they came over and messed up the order, they bought two daiquiris! The waiter put them down on the table, spilt the one, no apology nothing. Just left it dripping through the slats in the table, onto my white dress!!! We were given no drinks coasters or napkins… I know it sounds like little things but it definitely makes all the difference. Especially when visiting a restaurant at this standard. I then explained to a different member of staff that the order was incorrect, she was very good and changed it immediately. When we finally got the right two drinks…the taste!! I am a little bit of a cocktail expert and I can definitely say that these were not your traditionally made cocktails, they had put there own kind of spin on them. It tasted like they were made with sugary syrups rather than fresh fruit, very sweet, fake tasting and definitely was not a mojito or a daiquiri. Extremely unimpressed!!!! Neither of us could drink them. The table next to us arrived and they seemed to have the same problem, ordered around 4 different cocktails and sent everyone back! We paid - €20!!!!!!!! and sat waiting for our change. The change was never bought to us, clearly just put in the tip box. Which normally I don’t mind but with an experience like this it was just rude and disrespectful! We stood up and left.

On a whole the restaurant is absolutely amazing, lovely impressive place but the standard of both food and drinks is worse than you’d get at your local pub....
