The Taxi drivers of Lanzarote give this a big thumbs up. Asking them for local authentic Catalan food, the taxi drivers could not say enough about this place. So we had to try it ourselves. And of course we weren't disappointed at all, we were so impressed. The food here is fresh well cooked and absolutely delicious. The staff are very pleasant very friendly and have excellent English, which makes chatting with them very effortless. What I will say is that it is slightly expensive. The food quality is absolutely fantastic and you get value for what your money. So this is a treat place, but you should treat yourself from time to time. The only disappointment was that Wifeys prawns were slightly overcooked, a little on the bitey side. The table before us had a misorder where they did not order the prawns. So I believe the prawns sat on the shelf and the portion was refired for us. Every other dish was fantastic and cooked to perfection. The restaurant runs a tapas... relaxed family style sharing plates. Which can be confusing because some of the prices suggest that the plates are not tapas, but full meals. Wifey and Hubby started with a goat cheese salad to share. This was really delicious and Hubby very much appreciated the goat's cheese with the honey and balsamic vinegar dressing. The goat's cheese was nice and had a strong kick. Wifey found it moreish and loves the radishes in her salad. Wifey ordered the King Prawn Skewers, while Hubby went for the fillet mignon skewers. This was fantastically tasty and thoroughly finger licking good. Hubby felt that the prawns were a little overcooked but Wifey enjoyed them and didn't agree with hubby. The fillet mignon was tender and juicy and we both loved those. The real star dish was the Catalan potatoes, and it was only a side dish. Hubby was so glad to have ordered and would highly recommend it. However just to warn you they don't serve with mojo sauce as standard. You need to ask for the Rojo and Verde sauce which is again extra. Along with the side potatoes and the sauces that's an extra 8 euros, again that's expensive, but definitely worth it as they are so delicious. We can't argue with anything though. Because all of these are small and minor issues. And without doubt the food here is fantastic. We do recommend coming early because this place fills up quickly. And we will definitely...
Read moreWhat a truly fantastic experience at La Terracita De Flores. On the night that we went, there was just the chef, Nizar, and 1 front of house, and a full busy restaurant. The service was fantastic. Even though it was busy, nothing was too much, and we were truly looked after. And the food, well, it speaks for itself. No frills or pretence, just excellent local ingredients, cooked perfectly. We were so impressed with how the chef, operating alone, was able to produce food for the whole restaurant by himself, without sacrificing any quality. It was truly delicious, highlights being the tuna and filet mignon skewers. But honestly, anything you order here would be delicious. It is a restaurant that oozes quality. The setting is great too, with a few outdoor tables under a cover with little ambient lights. Truly magical evening. Nizar, thank you again, you are a wonderful chef, and you have a wonderful restaurant. We have been coming to PDC for many years, and after trying this place, we will be back here every time we return. Really looking forward to eating here again. In short - try this place. The reviews don’t lie, and you are guaranteed to have a...
Read moreWent here on recommendation of others, very intimate surroundings, the food was absolutely fantastic, amazing meat and seafood dishes. We had the carpaccio, Octopus and skewerd prawns and fillet steak. All were fantastic and reasonably priced. The wine was incredible too.
What really let our visit down was the service. Other reviews said they found it to be great so maybe we had an odd, bad experience. When we arrived, the waitresses were off from the start. They seemed annoyed by our presence, which we found odd as we were a father/daughter couple, sober, quiet and nicely dressed. We thought it might be because we were English, but there were other tables of English. No-one checked how our food was, we had to ask 3 times for an extra glass of wine and our starter was brought out with our mains. After we'd finished eating, we waited a good 40 minutes but no-one came to ask us if we wanted desert or coffee, which we did. We had to ask for the bill twice, which also took ages. A real shame as everything...
