Monday night: Restaurante Luna
So it's time to try the Luna Restaurante that's above the Dubliner at the far end of the strip just past Mr Pasta and also above the tobacco Exchange.. First impressions from the frontage and curb appeal is that were in for a expensive night again, but glancing firstly at the menus it's very reasonably price, at we get escorted upstairs to our table the restaurant is very nice inside, clean lines and a hint of blue light g that softens all the white.. Very open and airy and not at all stuffy and claustrophobic. so we order our meals from a very pleasant waiter chap named Mo who made a fuss of the kids and us alike, his ipad looked like Noa had pre owned it before he had and was joking he needed a new one.. The rest of the waiter team were buzzing about very efficiently.. A great touch was the (what looked like head waiter) lady waiter that were carving the steaks at the table.. Agian even though its curb appeal is up there with the better restaurants o. The strip it doesn't tell you the story really from the first viewing, it's now 8:30pm as I write this and this place is crammed and the atmosphere is really nice and not all loud and no annoying pub singer grinding my Nether regions. Sam ordered the Frutti De Mare tagliatelle, Libby ordered the Al Tonno Pizza, Mel continues the fishy theme with another fish soup and I spoil the fishfest with pork Tenderloin. We order our bread and it was the nicest on the strip so far, warm with butter and choice if 3 dips and also the cheapest at €1 per round.. Mels comments on the fish soup was that it definitely contained more seafood items and we're better cooked that her last fish soup in Lomo Alto and Mel gave that 10/10 and so gave this soup a 10.5 😁 Sam gave his Frutti De Mare pasta a another 10/10 and said it was just enough and was fine, a glowing reference from a lad of many words lol Libby-Anne said her Pizza was a solid 10/10 and was Fantastic with a capital EF.. My Pork Tenderloin was cooked to perfection and was almost as good as a great steak, I did said almost 😋 but the dish does deserve 10/10 again, this seems to becoming a habit, believe me the first dish we get that doesn't measure up is in for a fall, because the bar is becoming so high.. And from my poi t of view that can only be good for PDC and it's reputation, we've stayed in some resorts that's are lucky to have 5 or 6 out of every 10 places that would get these high scores, there was a bit of a commotion half way through our meal, when some jerk and I use the term loosely in case it was someone's child, decided to start to shine a green laser in through the restaurant windows and the waiters went to look outside for a culprit, this in turn and it maybe a coincidence as we're couldn't hear the full conversation! Sempt to set off a Spanish family giving it large and really going to town with 2 waiters over something that we thought was connected, as the laser definitely went across their table as well as ours and demanding the bill there and then, the older gentleman in the party stormed off to the till area and was remonstrating with one of the senior waiters.. They up and left, the lady waiter from before came to apologise for the desruption and was very diplomatic and extremely well mannered and pleasent.. This impressed us as it in no way effected our night but you could see they were trying the best they could with the families grievance.. Mo made a point also to come Ali g to shake everybody's hand and wish us a good holiday. These touches in my veiw and that of my wife and kids always add to the overall score we give a review... The total came to €62 wich is outstanding value, gust over €15 each Inc drinks We can't possibly give Luna Restaurante anything other than 10/10 So wow wow, did we just find our new besestes Restaurante 👏👏😁 Well we will be back, there is absolutely no doubt.. If your up the Casino end give it a try, I very much doubt you will be disappointed...
Till next time, Jay, Mel, Libby-Anne and Sam...
Read moreWe stopped here as it was a busy, well presented restaurant on the main strip in Puerto Del Carmen. My sister had fajitas and I had seafood paella. The service was bizarre, with waiters running around frantically, delivering beers to the wrong tables - both to us and the table next to us. They tried to charge the table next to us for beers they never ordered. The paella had a good taste but had clearly sat for a while and then been heated up on a furnace to get that “sizzle”. Very little sauce left in it and over cooked prawns, fish and calamari. A real shame as I felt it would have been pretty good if it hadn’t been reheated to the point of cremation. I had about half and left the rest. My sister had chicken fajitas. I tried a piece of the chicken and it was hard and dry and pretty tasteless. She had the food but was more tolerant than me - I’d have sent it straight back.
When we came to settle up and they asked how the meal was, I said it had all been over cooked. The senior waiter was also next to the table and heard the conversation but neither of them were interested.
There are plenty of places to choose from - I’d steer clear...
Read moreThe four of us had been to Teguise market this morning and decided to have lunch out today. Don't get me wrong the lunch in our all inclusive hotel Riu Paraiso Lanzarote Resort is very good , but just for a "treat" we decided to eat out. The Luna is right on the bus stop in Puerto del Carmen, easy to find. We all had different meals, and a few bottles of wine 😉, the food was amazing and the service was exceptional. We were so impressed that we are going back to dinner on Tuesday evening, the only downside is that Hasma the guy who served us is on a day off. We would thoroughly recommend this restaurant, not cheap if you're on all inclusive but a two course meal for four with 3 bottles of wine and liquor coffees for 155 euros was well worth it.......and we got a complimentary drink. Thank you Luna we look forward to our...
