Restaurante El Toro — Restaurant in Tías

We went to this restaurant as we had recently dined at another restaurant which shared the same head chef! Whilst the original restaurant was amazing! We can’t say the same for this one! Despite the comparable bill, this restaurant had poor service, staff who lacked an interest and chips which were outdone by the local fish and chip shop! Their interest in us as customers only lasted until we had picked our main menu choices and despite my husband picking the most expensive select cut they had no interest in us after that point! Our Change wasn’t even returned to us despite overpayment of the bill!

Very nice clean restaurant with friendly staff. The atmosphere was very well to do but that wasn't too much of a problem. My girlfriend had a sirloin steak from the set size menu whereas I ordered the T-bone which is advertised as 4 euros per 100gram. The issue I have with this is rather than being able to request a certain weight, they bring the meat out and cut it in front of you and then come back showing you the weight. This means you don't know how much you've ordered until it's too late which caught me out a little bit. The food itself was delicious though one of the best steaks I have eaten, would recommend going just watch out for the weight...

My partner and I shared the 2 person mixed grill with an extra portion of roasted potato slices. Honestly the pictures don't do it justice. There were about 7 different meat cuts cooked to perfection and generous portions. It was my partner's favourite mixed grill of all time and it's up there for me and we eat a lot of them. With 3 soft drinks it came to just over €60 which is great value. The puddings looked really good but we couldn't face them after tackling this.
