We were very disappointed last evening, I have been before, several times! Staff are so good, and we like the situation.....But the food is very hit and miss. 3 of us ordered cream of tomato soup with croutons and 1 garlic prawns which was excellent. The soup was thick with cream but very salty, couldn't eat it. The steaks arrived all mixed up , we decided to accept.... to save 1 being with out a meal. Admittedly 3 wanted well done....inc. myself, mine was served med. To rare....it had gristle right thru the middle, I had to send it back.. my friends had caramelized onions and barbeque sauce it was cut in chunks...not what you expect when ordering a sirloin steak. When they took my plate and saw I hadn't eaten it, they were very apologetic, then arrived a waitress with a slab of raw, sirloin with this fatty gristle through it!!!! I hate looking at raw meat and blood!!! Why I like it well done. She assured me it was sirloin, having been in the catering business all my working life, I felt insulted, to be told that was always the sirloin they cook!!!! They need to go to Ropers!!!! I paid the bill where staff were so kind and took my steak off the bill, I left a tip for staff out front, as they were so concerned. I have tried 4 times, but never ever will I go back...

Last night I went back taking my now wife to experience a lovely meal there. In the many years I've been away the scenery surrounding Toro has changed, but the location, looks just as i remember it.
The atmosphere is lovely, it has some great views when you are sitting in the veranda, the food prices, though on the slightly higher side, match the cost with fantastic taste and quality
I ordered the garlic prawns, and Canarian potatoes, both of which were perfect. The sauces were also fantastic.
The bread we got was home made, just out of the oven. You could smell it.
When our mixed grill main arrived it smelled amazing, and it followed up by tasting just as good.
Though we weren't able to finish the food, it was absolutely amazing, and I would heartily recommend to any tourist looking for a good place to eat, to jump just to the outskirts of Peurto del Carmen for a stunning meaty meal you won't forget.
(The menu does have vegetarian options available, but the overall menu is very...
Read moreTook my husband for his birthday. The decor and atmosphere are traditional spanish. He loves steak, so this was a great treat. He was taken to the meat cabinet to choose which joint he wanted to eat from. This was brought to the table and sliced to his choice of thickness. Weighed in at 2.2 kg. This included bone and fat. It was part cooked, then brought to table ready sliced, together with a charcoal burner so we could finish to our liking. An extractor fan is pulled down over burner to take any smoke away. Meat cost €68. A baked potato and veg accompany meat. There is a menu for everyday choices at much less cost. We are going back for his birthday next year. Need to book. We were there on a Monday and it was full. Chef owner Luis Leon was in the kitchen...
