Ruta 66 Lanzarote — Restaurant in Tías

So we've been here in Lanzarote for a week now and had the "pleasure" to visit Route 66.We've been in this place a few times this visit and my 2 daughters 18 years old were with us one one occasion. Tonight 9th April 2025 we stopped by and had a couple of drinks on our last night. The 2 girls wanted to use the toilet and when they tried to enter the big steroid ridden ape on the door said they were barred....bear in mind they've been in the place once. He said they "disrespected him"....My daughter's haven't been out of our sight since we got here. He's making serious accusations and has obviously mixed the 2 girls up someone else.

When I asked why he screamed aggressively at me and started losing the plot...steroids do make you aggressive!!!! Any way the fact the 2 18 year old girls upset this man should really make him think of another career. A bouncer should have a thicker skin than this. I'm sure he deals with a lot more on a nightly basis. Anyway we won't be visiting route 66 again EVER and we won't be spending our hard earned money to be abused by a staff member that needs a personality transplant. Surely part of his job is to de.escalate not scream in a customers face. He needs to be fired if this is his customer service skills. NEVER AGAIN RUTA 66.Not one more cent will be spent in your bar again.And we will be advising all our friends and families to avoid this place on every visit. 2nd night in 2 weeks at bar Ruta 66, for a drink after our diner. We liked the vibe there so went back. People from 30 up to 60, enjoying the 80’s music. There was a guy dancing, bothering no one. A couple came in, bodybuilder types. The girl was dancing very sexy and she was teasing the dancing guy. Her boyfriend acted aggressive to the dancing guy, who did nothing. They were looking for an escalation. The girl knocked the dancing guy’s cap of his head and he responded and slapped the boyfriend of the teasing girl. Dancing guy was thrown out, rightfully, but the couple and a bodybuilder friend should have been asked to leave as well. People told the security guy that they were stirring things up. The security guy spoke with the couple and their friend and the friend puts money in the security guys pocket. Later the security guy spoke with them again (as they were drunk and the girl was on the floor) and they put another Euro note in the bouncers pocket. The vibe was not nice, the couple and their friend should have been told to leave at the moment they got into a fight with the dancing guy. But more important: a bouncer should never ever except bribe from (drunk) people who are looking for a mess up, or any other person. I've been to Puerto Del Carmen 3 times in the last year and I use to love this place but recently it's gotten bad from a staff point of view, twice that I specifically noticed bar staff short changed me probably because they're no longer getting cash so less tips. Once last year the bar woman didn't give me my change for almost 20 minutes even though I asked her 4 times and then basically threw the change on the counter as if I've to give €12 top on an €8 bill because others aren't paying in cash. Last week a bar woman gave me back €4 in coins which she slowly dropped in to my hands and I even gave her a €1 tip then next round another woman gave me €5 on the same order so it's getting obvious now. Lastly, we were served at the bar and the bouncer almost immediately came over grunted put in cup were closing and I said we just got served he said do it now. As we were putting it in they were still serving more customers and immediately telling them to put them in takeaway. Real pity the place use...
