This is an absolute jewel in Lanzarote, right near the apartments we are staying. From early afternoon the aroma of the spices, make you salivate. We have been here twice in the week so far. First time we walked in and seated at table second time made reservation.
I want to say that all of the staff are friendly, genuine and provide a top class service. Supportive of ensuring we were provided with gluten free options for my husband.
Food: Traditional, authentic, fresh made food to order. We tried a variety of starters and main courses. All were individually spiced, we were asked what level of heat we would prefer. All food had fresh ingredients, served piping hot from kitchen to table.
Mixed tandoori starters Onion bhaji Lamb Madras Chicken kharai Chicken jalfrezi Pilau rice with crispy onions.
Price is very reasonable for what you get in tems of quality and quantity of food.
I would rate the food as excellent🌟
Drinks: Waiters gave an excellent reccommendation for the red wine we had with our meal. Gluten free option was Magners or Strongbow cider. Gluten free beer or lager would be a nice option, however, not a necessity. I would rate this as excellent also, good variety of drinks on the whole and staff know their stuff in relation to local wines.
Atmosphere: first night we visited was a Friday night. It was busy but still accommodated for us walk in. Really nice ambiance and vie of the sea whilst eating.
Second night we had pre booked, it was live music night. Manuel sang the old hits of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin. Very entertaining, not too loud just the right level of sound. Was fantastic.
Parking: lots of on street free parking just outside the restaurant.
Definatley worth a try if you are in the area and wanting an authentic indian meal, good service and atmosphere. I will be back next year.
Thank you to all the...
Read moreMy wife my son and myself booked a table after reading numerous positive reviews. We were greeted with a smile , shown to our table , our drinks order was promptly taken and within 5 minutes we ordered our starters and main courses. We ordered poppadoms and Our starters were delivered very quickly within 5 minutes And the three members of staff seemed to be very polite and efficient. After finishing our Onion Bhajis we then waited almost 50 minutes before we received our main courses , a member of staff did notice we were sitting twiddling our thumbs apologised for the delay and served us shortly after. Unfortunately the main courses were not worth the wait, I ordered a Lamb Madras , I have been eating Indian food for almost 50 years , I do appreciate that all curries are cooked individually and as such they are all going to vary . This Lamb Madras was awful , it was a pale brown colour it looked like cream had been used , the flavour was mild and non descript, the meat was tender but all the pieces of meat were perfect cubes ? And did not taste like Lamb at all . My wife and Son ordered Chicken curries , a tikka Madras and a chicken Jalfreze , both of their meals also appeared to have had cream added , they both said that the chicken was over cooked and rubbery and didn’t really taste that good The staff were very apologetic when we asked for the bill, they had given us a 10 percent discount which was the least they could do under the circumstances. Lesson Learned for us we did not complain as we did eat the dishes , they were not totally unpleasant just not very good...
Read moreI’m writing this review to let people know that the a staff member at this place has been watching and trying to intimidate and and my sister from our accommodation. Me and my 16 year old sister ate here yesterday and have been harassed from across the road by the kitchen staff nonstop. Our accommodation is within sight from this absolutely disgusting place and one of the men from the kitchen has been walking up and down the road watching us from our garden and living room and making inappropriate gestures towards me and my sister, who again, is sixteen. He has blown us kisses, waved at us to come over to him and asked for my sisters phone number from a distance. Whilst we were in the restaurant eating, the kitchen staff were staring at us the entire time and made us feel extremely uncomfortable and unsafe and this feeling has only been intensified by the walking up and down the road and watching us. This has been happening for hours at a time, and we even felt the need to record for our own safety and as we didn’t know what else to do. I am absolutely disgusted and appalled by this behaviour in this day and age and those who act this way should be held accountable. We have come on our first holiday alone together and cannot believe this is how people have acted around two young girls. If I could give 0 stars...
