The Farm — Restaurant in Tías

After reading reviews we were pretty disappointed. Hubby got gammon and it was tough and chewy. I got chicken pie, truthfully it was like heinz soup with chunks in it and a pastry top and my chips had a funny oily taste to them i got veg ( red cabbage, peas and carrots which were raw like a warm weird coleslaw lol ). Staff were lovely. They don't open until lunchtime anymore so not useful for breakfasts. They don't take card only cash so we had to limit our meal n drinks due to not carrying a lot of cash. I got a FB post last night to say it's now closed for 2 weeks for them to take a break( weird as it's high season, surely their staff can run it while away??) Pity as staff are sonice but I think it's maybe not as good as...

Lovely atmosphere, very friendly staff, had home-made chicken pie, with hand cut chunky chips with fresh veg, cabbage, carrots and green beans definitely want to come back to try the lush looking burgers, well worth a visit. Came back for a 2nd meal as we enjoyed it so much, we were warmly welcomed back by the same waitress,, had fish and chips this time was just as lovely as the pie, was my friends birthday 🎂 which we mentioned so after the meal she was brought a slice of cake and we both had a glass of fizz, along with "Happy birthday" over the speakers, we were made to feel like friends, not just customers, I really can't understand the bad reviews some people have left, I would highly recommend...

The food was OK, not great but not bad either, on a par with other eateries in Matagorda. What really lets this place down is the service. I first went there a couple of years ago & felt that the service was slow. Went back again today for breakfast, our order (from the breakfast menu) took over 45 minutes to arrive and when it did, it was incomplete. When we arrived there was just one person taking orders and also preparing & serving drinks (tea, coffee etc.) It appears that the chef was preparing just one order at a time....not good enough for breakfast time.
