Red Lab — Restaurant in Tarragona

I had been to this place a few times with my husband — the cocktails were always well made, and we were well attended to on every occasion. However, last night I took three friends there to show them the place, and the experience was deeply disappointing.

We had been waiting for service for some time when we noticed a man adjusting the chairs. We tried to speak with him, and he, clearly in a bad mood, dryly replied that someone would come to assist us. Shortly after, a woman brought us water, and then the same man — extremely unfriendly — came over to ask what we would like to drink.

Since I was already familiar with the menu, I ordered my usual cocktail. My three friends were a bit indecisive, and whenever they asked him a question, he answered rudely. The rudeness escalated when one of them asked if they served wine — she only wanted a glass, as she has allergies to certain substances found in cocktails. He replied that they only served wine by the bottle, and even questioned whether she truly couldn’t drink any of the cocktails.

Things reached a boiling point when my friend said she would just have water to accompany us, and the man — now extremely rude — said she had to order something, claiming it was “house policy: if you sit, you must consume.” I pushed back, saying I had never seen that rule enforced there before, and to everyone’s surprise, he claimed to be the owner of the establishment.

At that point, my friend stood up, and he kept insisting. Naturally, the rest of us followed her out. An UNBELIEVABLE experience!

I absolutely do not recommend this place. It was, without a doubt, the worst customer service I’ve ever...

We visited this restaurant with a group of 20 people on Dec 30th.. The place was nearly empty, and we had called in advance to inform them of our large group. Unfortunately, the experience was horrible.

The waiter was extremely rude and unpleasant, shouting at us and complaining about the size of our group. He insisted on seating us right in front of a wall, which felt dismissive and uncomfortable. Throughout the evening, he was completely disorganized and unprofessional, creating a chaotic and unwelcoming atmosphere. I later noticed that many others have reported similar issues with the service at this place.

The bartender was good to make cocktails both in a preparation style and also the taste. Well at least from what people told me as my cocktail was given to someone else and only 1.5 hour later when I asked he, the famous rude waiter, was saying it was my fault.

This feedback is meant to be constructive because the bar itself is nice and has potential. However, the service—particularly from the waiter—needs significant...

We visited Red Lab Cocktail Bar three times during our recent stay in Tarragona, and each visit was just as memorable as the last. The service was outstanding every time, with a special mention to Fabio, who was incredibly charismatic and made the experience even more enjoyable. That said, all of the staff were very professional and attentive.

The atmosphere was perfect for us – great music, stylish lighting, and beautifully chosen furnishings that made the bar feel both chic and welcoming.

And the cocktails… each one was truly a work of art! Not only did they taste fantastic, but the presentation was stunning. We had drinks served in a high-heel shoe glass, a skull glass, and even a quirky fish-shaped glass for a cocktail called Zombie. One of the highlights was a cocktail presented under a glass cover, releasing a swirl of smoke when lifted – a real showstopper!

This bar manages to combine creativity, quality, and a brilliant vibe. I honestly can’t recommend it highly enough – an absolute must-visit...
