Bocois Tarragona — Restaurant in Tarragona

The service in this restaurant is consistently bad. However the ambience and the food is good. This is why we decided to return today. We waited 15 minutes and no one attempted to provide us with a menu. I then asked the bar staff if we could order a drink and one waitress reluctantly agreed. They took our food order and we decided to be patient because of past experience. However after 30 minutes of waiting and no acknowledgement from waiting staff we saw another customer complaining about the service. The chef came out of the kitchen and started shouting at him and the waitress would not take responsibility either. At this point we decided to abandon our meal, pay for the drinks and leave. An awful atmosphere, such a shame for the owner who has clearly invested a lot in this restaurant. I will not return to this restaurant. The service is abominable and not worth the upsides...

Historia / Experiencia vivida

Fuimos 5 personas como a las 10:15 de la noche, a la hora nos dijeron que no tenían cierta cosa que habíamos pedido (brochetas), y tras tan solo 45 minutos o así por fin empezaron a traer la comida, pero claro, no venía toda junta.

Primero trajeron solo 1 plato (sin quejas), pasaron como 20 minutos más para que llegara otro más (este era la entraña de ternera con chimichurri, la cual estaba fría y no sé de qué material estaría hecha pero era incortable (los cuchillos no cortan bien, pero esa carne tampoco ponía de su parte)) fuimos a decirle que la cortasen al menos, luego se acercó un camarero y nos quejamos de que tardaban una barbaridad porque esperar 1 hora para una carne incortable y fría que era impensable, el nos dijo que le trataremos con respeto porque el lo hacía (en ningún momento le faltamos al respeto).

Más tarde 10-15 min más o menos trajeron otros dos platos (el lagarto, el cual venía frío (le dijimos que lo calentara) y sin salsa de mostaza aunque pone que lleva, pero estaba blandito y rico, así que sin mucha queja), (el magret de pato, sin quejas también).

Y por último las croquetas...ojo, por último, cuando suele ser de lo primero al tener menos preparación que los platos anteriores, pero bueno, estaban ricas.

Cuando estábamos saliendo el camarero joven se nos ha disculpado, muy agradable ese chaval. El otro camarero (el del respeto) ni pío.

Resumen

Comida decente, aunque no toda, y por los precios que tienen te esperas algo mejor (cada plato ronda los +10€).

Tienen pocos empleados (3-4) para tantísima mesa (las de dentro, las de la terraza en la salida, y las de la rambla), es una barbaridad.

Debería haberse disculpado el dueño o el encargado (a mí parecer) en vez de el pobre chaval.

Conclusión

Ha sido una experiencia que no volveremos a repetir...

I have lived in Tarragona for a year now. Have also avoided this place. But then in the summer I met one of the waiters who resembles Mick Hucknall from Simply Red. Great guy. So I went the other night, all the fiestas and holidays are finished. I had a very pleasant experience, staff were happy and pleasant.
