My recent dining experience at La Taberna del Mar restaurant was a bit of a mixed bag. Let me start with the positives - the food was undeniably fantastic! The flavors and presentation of the dishes were top-notch, and I thoroughly enjoyed the culinary journey. The only let down with the food was the Paella was a little too salty. Not great if you have high blood pressure.
However, I must mention that the service left much to be desired. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed, leading to slow service and delays in getting our orders taken and served. This aspect of the dining experience was a bit disappointing, as it affected the overall enjoyment of the meal.
Additionally, I found the staff to be somewhat unfriendly and lacking in warmth. There was little engagement and attentiveness from their end, which made the dining experience feel less welcoming than I had hoped for.
On a brighter note, the atmosphere and views at La Taberna del Mar were absolutely stunning. The restaurant's location offered breathtaking vistas that added a touch of magic to the overall ambiance. It's a place where you can truly immerse yourself in the beauty of the surroundings and enjoy the company of loved ones.
In conclusion, La Taberna del Mar has incredible potential with its amazing food, spectacular views, and enchanting ambiance. However, improvements in service, paella and staff friendliness would undoubtedly enhance the overall experience. If you're willing to overlook the slower service and focus on other food and ambiance, it's still worth a visit for a memorable...
Read moreVisited this evening with my family, won’t be going back. Frozen precooked dross served by a nice waiter.
Had the paella seafood special at €27 per head. The lobster was paraded past us by the chef accidentally, it was precooked and frozen. The dish arrived and ever single item in it was rubbery or mush, not a single fresh piece of fish in sight. Mussels, razor clams, clams, prawns, langoustines, all tasted of nothing. All frozen.
Kids had a fillet steak, it was certainly not fillet but rather a flank or Yonkers style cut. Tasty but still poor.
Tourist trap? Yes absolutely
The only saving grace was the view and the waiter was half decent. Service gets 3 stars as a result as does atmosphere purely based on view.
The food was akin to an amateurs attempt.
It’s remarkable how far British cuisine and associated scenes have come in the last 20 or so years. We have some of the best food in the world now, the days of eating trash are gone. It’s about time these tourist traps went back to giving us authentic fresh produce. I suppose some of the weather spoons day drinkers...
Read moreWent there for a birthday dinner without reservation but that was not a problem as they were free tables at that time, view was lovely and staff were nice and friendly but the disappointment came when food start coming to the table, fried calamari was ok average but no flavour at all, grilled octopus probably one of the worst I’ve ever had, first of all it was boiled not grilled completely tasteless and we start adding salt and sauces that were on the table to give it some flavour so we could eat it, Last but the worst was the mixed grilled fish and seafood, everything was plain and no flavour at all , fish was not even cleaned properly as we found lot of scales in our mouth when we tried eating it, one of the fish was not even grilled but the whole fish was dropped probably in a deep pan with oil and fried as you could see the amount of oil on it, we didn’t complain as we didn’t want to ruin our evening further so we paid the bill and left but definitely won’t be...
