The Black Bull — Restaurant in Teguise

Booked a table here, as got turned away the day prior due to no tables left so that was promising.

We waited around 50 minutes for our food to come out. Burger meat seemed over cooked, no taste in it and the chips seemed reheated as there were lots of oil in them, had better chips from the all inclusive we are at. My partner had the double patty. Which there isn’t much of a patty, it was just two quarter pounders, who had said it was dry too.

Disappointed, I did hear the waiter say they are extremely busy but it was mid when we had arrived. Granted it did start to pick up when we were waiting for ours.

There were no small bowls of sauce either, just your standard little packets that you get from a canteen, I feel these small touches would make an improvement.

The atmosphere was a bit dull, no fault of the restaurant but you had a chap walk buy trying to sell his cheap flock of stock to all of the customers that were trying to eat.

The waiter was pleasant. Seemed friendly, but seemed rushed off his feet. Perhaps this is a one off as the reviews seem the opposite of mine. I probably wouldn’t visit again as I’d like to try more restaurants in the area but hopefully...

A typically British pub that doesn't try to be everything, just good at what it does. *Update Dec 2024 - just as good as last year. Awesome burger, like cheese? Try the Lanzarote burger. With daily activities or offers, (drinks, food or bingo), this is a lively pub. Staff are busy but always have time to chat with you. Food is hot (when it's meant to be!) And a decent portion size and checked you are happy with your choice. Quality is good - a plate of Chilli Nachos with easily do for 2 people, salsa, soured cream, jalapenos, nachos - layered. At peak times (e.g. Bingo) tables fill up early and you'd need to arrive 1 to 2 hrs early, or you'll be sitting on the wall outside - which honestly is a problem!
