Restaurante Aquí – A Warm Welcome and an Unforgettable Meal

On our first night in Toledo, my partner and I found Restaurante Aquí through a quick Google search—and what a find it turned out to be. We wandered in at 9 PM on a Monday, hungry and hopeful, and were warmly welcomed by the host who kindly found us a table.

We ordered the prawns and squid with garlic, the venison, and the partridge. Every single dish was exceptional. I’d never had partridge before, and honestly, it was so good I’m hesitant to try it anywhere else—it set the bar that high. The venison? Rich, tender, and flavorful—I may never look at a regular steak the same way again.

Though we were too full for dessert, the menu left us wanting more, and we’re already talking about coming back to explore it further.

The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and we had a lovely chat with John and Julian—co-owners and all-around great hosts—on our way out. Their passion for the place really shines through.

Dear Julian & Restaurante Aqui, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the wonderful experience we had at your restaurant. We chose your place to celebrate my wife’s birthday in Toledo and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious, and I especially enjoyed the sangria and steak – I got the 1.5 kg Ribeye grilled table side =) - and pasta. It was a memorable evening. It was also very kind of you to return my GoPro device I left at the restaurant that evening free of charge. I appreciate your honesty and integrity (For those reading this review, Julian couriered my GoPro from Toledo to Mallorca a week later in time for our flight to Paris).
