Waitress hates her job, or maybe just hates tourists, or maybe both. Two stars for the food — well, for what we were allowed to order. We ordered cava to drink and she exclaimed “CAVA?!?!?” with a disgusted look and then sped away, came back and said “we don’t have cava here”. Wtf? We ordered sparkling waters instead and she groaned. We asked for carcamusa and we were told it was sold out (we sat down right before 1pm) but then a table of Spanish people next to us ordered a tortilla española with carcamusa sauce and she brought it. So we pointed and asked to order the same thing, she begrudgingly complied and I have to say it was actually delicious. Next we asked to order some croquetas and she exclaimed similarly as before “CROQUETAS? It’s 1pm!” Am I missing something here, are croquetas only at a certain time? Then she came back and said there was a portion of them remaining and they would be out soon. Overall her tone and brusqueness with us really ruined the mood and we decided to not even attempt to order anything else. The food others were served did look good however. We don’t speak Spanish very well but we did our best and we didn’t order anything outrageous or unusual....

Menú del día 18€ might not sound cheap, but it's plenty of food. We ordered 1 menu and 1 dish (a salad, 9.50€) and an extra water, totalling a bit under 30€ and definitely left full and satisfied.

This is the bar where the Toledo signature dish "carcamusas" was invented and popularized. As such, try it out here!

The Carcamusas is a pork stew with tomato taste and a hint of spicy (but not really spicy/hot). It's quite salty, but it goes well with the bread and a drink.

The salad was quite big and well seasoned. Service was nice for how busy they get. We arrived at 1pm and didn't need to wait, but took the last table. When we left, there were many groups waiting to be seated.

The dessert flan was delicious and homemade.

Overall a good, fulfilling meal and...

If you're looking for a true locals spot in Toledo for a meal, this is it. We were told of it from our tour guide who said it's his family's favorite spot for Carcamusas, the traditional unofficial dish of Toledo and so we had to try it. It's not fancy by any means, but it IS delicious. The service was great, the woman who helped us was so fun and jovial we had a great time in addition to the great food. We ordered jamon y queso, carcamusas and gambas al ajillo and the carcamusas was the star of the show. When I tell you there was not a DROP left on that plate! We almost went back AGAIN for dinner but ultimately decided to try something different. I highly recommend this place...
