ASCUAS GRILL & WINE — Restaurant in Torremolinos

Part of eating out is the experience. Arrived circa 8pm with seats at the front but was escorted to the rear sitting alone and directed to a QR code on the table. I'm no tech phobe but it became clear that the QR menu didn't reflect the actual menu and specials were missing entirely. Later arrivals were given a written menu which was confusing. That aside the food was excellent. Croquettes seem more prevalent here than the UK and I enjoyed the ham variant as a starter. The chargrilled burger for the main was excellent being succulent and well accompanied. The bun was room temperature which could be rectified with better timing but add in a great and value choice of wine, then sort the niggles out and this would be a good value good...

Fantastic service here from the young waiter who was attentive and friendly. A nice vibe in the restaurant which also has a lovely outside terrace. Good quality fresh ingredients that were cooked expertly and seasoned perfectly. The croquettes of Chopo and Mussels were flavoursome and the Gambas Pil Pil were succulent with just the right amount of chilli. Such a nice place hidden away from a busier road. We gravitated towards the fairy lights in the alleyway and felt comforted. The warmth of the service encouraged us to sit down and the rest of the experience didn't let us down. I asked for the dishes of the day and the waitress was extremely helpful, explaining our choices in English. The food went way beyond our expectations and the wine was delicious. A little gem in Torremolinos. Maybe could have a had a bigger menu selection but 4 stars and...
