Nestled in the vibrant heart of Torremolinos, Málaga, Limao Sushi Bar is a culinary gem that masterfully blends Japanese precision with the bold, vibrant flavors of Peruvian cuisine. This Japanese-Peruvian fusion restaurant delivers an unforgettable dining experience, with a menu that showcases exquisite and innovative dishes crafted with remarkable attention to detail. From the moment you step into its inviting ambiance, Limao promises a gastronomic journey that is as delightful to the palate as it is to the senses.
The star of the show is undoubtedly the Acevichado Roll, a brilliant creation that encapsulates the essence of Peruvian Nikkei cuisine. This roll is a revelation, incorporating the iconic Peruvian leche de tigre —a zesty, citrusy marinade typically found in ceviche—into a sushi roll format. The result is a mind-blowing explosion of flavors: tangy, creamy, and subtly spicy, with each bite delivering a perfect harmony of fresh fish, velvety rice, and the vibrant kick of leche de tigre. It’s a daring yet flawless fusion that elevates the sushi experience to new heights, making it a must-try for any food enthusiast.
Equally impressive is the Huancaina Roll, which pays homage to Peru’s beloved huancaina sauce. This roll is a masterpiece of balance, featuring a creamy, mildly spicy huancaina sauce infused with just the right amount of ají to provide a gentle heat that lingers without overpowering. The interplay of textures—crisp vegetables, tender fish, and perfectly seasoned rice—complemented by the subtle spiciness, makes this roll a standout. It’s a testament to Limao’s ability to innovate while respecting the integrity of both Japanese and Peruvian culinary traditions.
Beyond these signature rolls, Limao’s menu is a treasure trove of creative dishes that showcase the best of Nikkei fusion. Each plate is a work of art, presented with meticulous care and bursting with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The staff’s warmth and knowledge further enhance the experience, with servers like Sandra (a.k.a. Laura) and Claudia offering personalized recommendations that reflect their passion for the cuisine. The cozy yet sophisticated atmosphere, tucked away in Pueblo Blanco, makes Limao ideal for romantic dinners, friendly gatherings, or solo culinary adventures.
While the restaurant’s popularity can sometimes lead to a wait, the impeccable service and extraordinary food make it well worth it. The dessert menu, featuring delights like the decadent chocotorta, provides a sweet finale that leaves you eagerly planning your next visit. Limao Sushi Bar is, without question, the finest Japanese-Peruvian fusion restaurant in Torremolinos, and arguably the entire Málaga region. For anyone seeking bold, original flavors and a dining experience that truly excites, Limao is an absolute must-visit.

Read more2 restaurants we tried to get in were full and so we settled on Limao. Poke bowls were tasty but the different protein variations were fried nuggets of salmon or chicken- not what we were expecting . The last main, salteado limeno (veg), was basically a plate of fried vegetables with a thick fried coating- ended up removing the fried shells (came off in one piece easily, that is how thick it was ) and eating only the vegetables inside. Waitress was lovely and service was prompt. Desserts were just ok. Expensive meal considering that vegetable dish that one of us ordered- with hindsight, should have...
Read moreWe have visited several times, each as wonderful as the last. The service and attention that we received from Javier was fantastic, he was polite and knowledgeable. The chef, Sebastian, is a wizard in the kitchen. Every dish that comes out is full of flavour and is cooked to absolute perfection. Laura is also worth a mention, as she was just as attentive. Even though we were not her table to look after, she made sure that we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this restaurant, the food is always impeccable and the wine list has something for everyone. We will keep...
