Terrible Dining Experience at Serendipia

I recently dined at Serendipia, and I must say it was an extremely disappointing experience from start to finish. The overall quality of the food, the service, and the lack of information provided left me thoroughly unsatisfied.

First and foremost, let's talk about the noodles. They were simply subpar. Not only were they lacking in flavor, but there were also no sufficient amounts of shrimp and octopus. And to make matters worse, the octopus itself was rubbery and unpleasant to eat. It was a complete letdown.

Moving on to the main course, the duck magret was a disaster. It was greasy and incredibly tough, making it a real challenge to enjoy. It felt like I was chewing on a rubber band rather than savoring a delicious piece of meat. The lack of attention to detail in preparing this dish was evident.

The burratina, touted as a dish suitable for 5 diners, was a joke. It arrived on the table looking pitifully small, and the few pieces of tomatoes accompanying it were far from enough to satisfy everyone. It felt like a stingy attempt to cut costs, leaving us feeling cheated and hungry.

To make matters worse, the lack of communication was astounding. We were not informed in a timely manner that smoking was not allowed outside the premises. It was only at the end of our meal that we spotted a sign with no clear indication of the smoking prohibition. This lack of clarity and communication was highly unprofessional and disrespectful to customers.

Lastly, the service at Serendipia was abysmal. The staff seemed disinterested and unattentive, leaving us waiting for extended periods of time for even the simplest requests. It was evident that they lacked proper training and basic customer service skills. It's a shame that such a crucial aspect of a restaurant experience was so poorly executed.

In conclusion, I cannot recommend Serendipia based on my experience. The noodles lacked key ingredients, the duck was greasy and tough, the burratina was miserly portioned, the smoking policy was unclear, and the service was horrendous. Tapas style dishes with a modern twist. Very tasty food and excellent presentation! This restaurant is located in a side street a few minutes walk from Calle San Miguel. The views are not great, but do not let that you put you off of visiting. We stopped here for lunch. The waiter was very helpful in explaining different questions that we had about the menu. We settled on 4 Tapas style dishes, all of which were very well presented and tasted delicious. For dessert we had a very nice carrot cake to share. Along with a soft drink and 2 pints of beer the bill came to a very reasonable 44.50€. The only criticism and thing that we found disappointing were the chargeable coverts. At the start of our lunch we were served some olives and aioli that we returned and 2 rolls and a packet of savoury bites neither of which we asked for and did not touch, but were still charged for. We were charged 2€ for these so not a big deal and we left 50.00€ as we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. He sido clienta y lo he recomendado ya que trabajo de cara al publico en turismo y me suelen preguntar a menudo dónde se come bien y los he recomendado muchas veces, obvio ya ni les recomendaré ni comeré ahi nunca más. Entiendo que los autónomos esten mal de dinero y todo está mas caro y entiendo que suban los precios de los platos pero que te pongan aceitunas que no has pedido y encima te los cobren a 2€ me parece cutre a más no poder, además que te cobren 3€ aparte por un escupitajo de mayonesa que sirven con patatas fritas a 5€ sin avisar de que la "mayonesa" se cobra aparte cuando no pediste y te dan a entender que puedes elegir entre ketchup o mayonesa y que eso viene "incluido" Las patatas unos tacos gordos que por ser tan gordos se quedan crudos en el centro y dejan mucho que desear. Suerte de tener la mayonesa porque las mini hamburguesas estaban sin salsa y sequeronas y con una lasca de cascara morada que estaba incomible, parecia la capa exterior de cebolla de la que los demás tiramos por dura. Dejé 5€ de propina y ni miré la cuenta ya que a sitios a los que suelo ir no les controlo ya que doy por sentado que no me van a cobrar lo que no es, la persona que vino conmigo me pidió verla y fué cuando nos dimos cuenta de los "extras". Mejor subir los precios de la comida que racanear en cositas como estas que sólo cabrean, obvio la propina me la volví a meter al bolsillo ya que cubren las aceitunas que no pedí y la salsa que cobraron aparte.
