Restaurante 4 Cuartos — Restaurant in Torremolinos

We visited Spain for a week from the USA. This is one of my favorite restaurants of all the ones we tried. We were surprised that it was not very busy walking up at 9pm, especially when we saw that the food and service were amazing. Our waiter was able to make food recommendations to us in English - very helpful! We tried almost everything he recommended and it was all spectacular. We had the “Rolitos cremosos de langostinos” - prawn rolls with a crispy outside and creamy center, the “Dim Sum de rabo de toro” an oxtail dim sum - my personal fave - so rich and tender, the “Zamburinas estilo japo” - scallops that they torched table side, and the “Gyozas de pato” - duck dumplings that were also very good. Would highly recommend having all of these dishes. We don’t usually do dessert, but he suggested their cheesecake made in house, and it was the best I’ve ever had - made with 5 cheeses, not overly sweet, amazing texture, served with a caramel sauce that elevated it. We would definitely come back to this restaurant again!! We thought prices were great and maybe even low. ...

Quatro Quartos was a lucky find - our original spot was closed, so we wandered in here, and wow. This place is a fusion dream: tapas with an Asian twist, and these folks know exactly what they’re doing. The guy serving us? Absolute legend. He took charge, shared his top 5 dishes, walked us through them, and had us laughing along the way. And even though we rolled in just half an hour before closing, not a single word about “last orders” or “kitchen closing.”

One dish was flambeed right at the table - talk about dinner and a show! And then… their creamy cheesecake. Let’s just say: it was all over before I could think “photo op.” This place is a hidden gem for now, but trust me, when word gets out, snagging a table is...

So I read the ebullient google reviews and thought I'd give it a try, but at the back of my mind thinking they were perhaps a little too good to be true. I was wrong. These tapas are amazing. I mean properly excellent! The flavours were bursting out in every mouthful. And yes, the staff are great. When I was ordering the waiter stopped me mid flow and said i had probably got enough, and could always order more if I was still hungry. That, to me, is great service (he was right, fyi). I had 4 plates and a large beer and it came to E11.30. I thought I had misread the bill in the low light. i'll so be coming back here at least twice more...
