Tiki Mexican Food — Restaurant in Torremolinos

The best burrito I’ve ever had. I went for the vegetarian. Tasted fresh and I’m sure they even make their own tortillas. In the UK the tortillas are from a factory and taste like rubber. They heat it up on a hot plate and by the time you eat it, the tortilla is cold and tastes awful and make you bloated because it is poor quality. I’m talking about the Mexican chain restaurants.

I’ve got five days left and I just wished I found this place sooner and I will make sure I go back. The food set me back about ten euros for a vegetarian tortilla with a corona. They also seem to be hygienic and wear gloves which I like in a restaurant and there is an open kitchen which I also like. I’m sure to recommend this place to friends and just wish they had these in the UK. The waitress that served me in the kitchen area side was very friendly, professional and helpful. She is also very hard working and speaks English perfectly which is helpful. Ignore any bad reviews. She seems over worked but lovely and pretty much seems to manage the place!

If you are in the area, make sure you be sure to visit this place otherwise you will miss out. The food is fabulous, the frozen margarita to die for. Reasonable prices as well. About 6 euros for cocktails, 3.50 euro for a Corona, under 10 euros for burrito. The nachos with cheese and guacamole was fabulous as well. I can’t wait to go back. Great food and service.

Just opposite the beach which is...

We waited outside to be seated as the signs on the door and on all tables say to wait to be rated by a server, after 5 minutes we decided to seat ourselves as it was fairly quiet (about 4 customers) but many dirty tables so we thought it would be easier for the server, after 5 minutes is waiting again seated I decided to stand up and go ask for a menu to help again, I was greeted by a male server who when I asked for a menu, slapped the sign stating about being seated as if to say can I not read, I apologised and then said I was waiting outside to which he rolled his eyes and slapped the menus onto the counter with attitude. Then after a few minutes he came over to serve us and we asked about X’s on the menu to which he ignored and told us to move to a smaller table as it was for 4 people not 2.

At that point we got up and left without ordering

Came to this restaurant this evening really looking forward to trying the food, only to be refused a table for myself, my partner and my 2 kids as we had a buggy with us. They would not allow us to fold the buggy down and directed us to their sister restaurant across the street and advised that we could ask for the mexican menu over there. We went across expecting to be able to order from the Mexican menu as advised , but we were then told we had to make a phone call to the Mexican Tiki across the street and have them deliver it over to us. I asked why we were not allowed in the tiki Mexican and mentioned that this was discrimination against families who had kids with them and I was told “if you don’t like it leave”. I never left a restaurant so fast, a place with service like that won’t be getting a cent from me. Avoid at all costs, absolutely...
