There was so much potential here, but unfortunately was overall disappointed with my experience.
What they did well:
-The establishment is super cute, well decorated, clean, and completely on theme. Someone was very thoughtful in the design of this restaurant. -Food prices are very reasonable -Portion sizes are generous. They give you lots of fish and toppings and and don't skimp at all with the portions.
What could be improved:
-I chose one of their set poke combinations and the flavors weren't quite balanced. In this particular bowl, there were so many wasabi peas that the entire bowl ended up tasting like wasabi peas and although I enjoy spicy food, it was a bit much for me. The bowl also lacked something bright/sweet to balance out the other flavors. -My partner ordered a hamburger which was advertised as 100% beef, but tasted like a mix of pork and beef. The bun was over-toasted to the point that I cannot believe someone would serve it in that condition. -While the waitstaff wasn't rude, I generally got the vibe that the waitress didn't feel like being there today. It's okay we all have off days. -Coffee prices are okay, but all of the other drinks were extremely overpriced.
There is a misleading advertisement where you can get 30% off the food if you make a reservation with TheFork, but you need to buy a full priced drink in order to get the discount. Of course TheFork doesn't tell you that when you make the reservation. In the end, it's still good value together with the food, but the misleading advertisement feels a bit "ick". This place has tons of positive Google reviews, so I can't imagine why they would need such gimmicky advertisements to drive traffic. If it were up to me, I wouldn't bother with that promotion. Just make the drink prices normal and maybe offers some sort of combo to purchase the drink and meal together.
I think this place has a lot of potential and if I lived in the area, I'd be open to giving it another try in the future. If I were to come again, I would build my own bowl to balance it the way I like and I wouldn't bother with...
Read moreIt's not the first time I've ordered food for delivery at this restaurant. And usually the food is good, but sometimes the food is bad. And I got a strange response from the restaurant "Thank you for sharing your opinion, but we dont understan why you keep ordering in our shop if you think the food is not good". Last time the food really didn't good, the bowl smelled really weird and had a sour taste. This isn't the first time I've ordered it, but it was the first time I encountered this. The second bowl was not bad but the pieces of fish were huge, few and veiny, which made for a questionable eating experience. So, I keep ordering food from your restaurant because in 4 cases out of 5, it arrives tasty and on time. But instead of clarifying what is wrong or correcting the situation, you just give me a very strange response to my feedback. I recommend you to be more empathetic and kind to your customers. And I will continue to order because your food is not bad and there are no analogs in our neighborhood for delivery yet. But if I receive unpalatable or bad food, why can't I inform...
Read moreWe picked this place due to reviews online and we were tickled to death with this stop. First off, it is so fresh and alive and happy when you walk in. We were greeted immediately and sat down in a sunny window seat. My husband and I both were delighted with our choices. I had greens with chicken, seaweed, avocado, pineapple, croutons, cheese and balsamic reduction with oil on the side. Yummy. The menu name is kalti-mero? My hubs had the Rodolpho bowl with tempura shrimp, chicken, edamame, pineapple, curry mango, rice, and chickpeas. Some kind of magical dressings. Whew, these were so good. Both of us had fruit teas on ice. We started with some seasoned fries with chicken on top and cheese. I'm making myself hungry. Stop here! It is amazingly delicious! Super friendly! Very...
