Horrible “service”, Today we arrived at Valor at 1:50 PM and sat down at the terrace. Most tables were stacked with dirty dishes, although only four tables (us included) were occupied. Okay, they must have been busy. Understandable, maybe. After numerous attempts and having waited for 15 minutes, we were able to get the attention of the waitress. She motioned she would be over, yet continued on her way inside. After another 10 minutes (so 25 minutes total wait time) , I went inside. The waitress was in the (see through) kitchen making churros. So I patiently waited at the counter until she came out. When she was standing right across from me behind the counter, she halfway looked up at me, which I took to mean I could place my order. So I started “Un café americano y…”, only to be rudely interrupted mid-sentence (!) with an even ruder (in English) “a moment”. I wasn’t going to accept to be interrupted like this, so I finished my sentence and calmly continued “y una infusión frutas del bosque por favor”. The waitress barked: “Outside!” I guess she meant to say she was going to come take the order outside…She could have said it in Spanish since I placed my order in Spanish (I have been living here for more than seven years, speak adequate Spanish and am married to a local). I went back outside, we waited for another five minutes and then got up. FYI: At that point, the “waitress” (quotation marks with pun intended!) was finally cleaning up a table right next to us, but still didn’t make any effort to take our order. My only reason for posting this review is to bring this to the attention of Valor management. This business is a charming institution in Torrevieja. Please do something about the service (or rather: total lack of service) and the staff’s attitude because otherwise, Valor won’t last...
Read moreVery rude woman working here tonight (Tuesday 8th oct 8.45pm). She was so rude I’ve made a formal complaint and emailed valor directly. Email below
Dear sir/madam,
I’m writing to complain about poor service received from a female staff member in your Torrevieja store this evening.
I was with my family who are visiting from the uk and we were out having dinner and I wanted them to experience Valor. We ate at a restaurant first then made our way to the Torrevieja store and arrived 8.45pm.
We sat and looked at the menu’s and decided what we were going to have to then be met by an incredibly rude staff member who mumbled something to us and walked off. We didn’t understand what she was saying as she wasn’t clear and Spanish isn’t my first language. Anyway we waited for her to return as she was taking cakes to other customers and she came back again and said she’s closed and isn’t serving anymore. I showed her the time on my phone and she said it’s doesn’t matter, she’s alone and not serving anymore. She was rude, unwelcoming and I felt really embarrassed in front of my family who I’d been recommending valor all evening.
I wanted to bring my experience to your attention and I’m currently researching your CEO contact details as this staff member is giving your company a bad reputation.
I have only ever been met with rude and frustrated staff at the Torrevieja store, Elche and Alicante, the staff are lovely.
I’ve no plan to return to valor Torrevieja after this experience and hope you appreciate...
Read moreWent to Torrevieja to look at lights ,went to Valor for chocolate and churros. There were at least 5 tables waiting to be served by 2 waitresses. Not enough staff were working, 1 barrista working behind the counter. We were left sat there 15 minutes before we got up and left. 2 more tables of people got up and left. Service was absolutely dreadful. Attitude of staff was even worse where they could not cope. If you know that you are going to have a packed establishment then you add extra staff. Would NOT RECOMMEND this place to anyone unless you're prepared to sit there until the waitresses with attitude give you the time of day. Daytime hours are OK but don't attempt to go there to be served at night especially when the Christmas lights are on as you won't be served. As a manager I'd be embarrassed to be in charge of this place. No staff, bad attitudes, lack of smiling waitresses and no atmosphere. It needs to be run properly where anyone of any age, race or nationality is encouraged to visit. Sorry Valor but you seriously need to upgrade your staff or at least get more in to work of an evening to cope with Christmas visitors. You are losing so much money. If you can afford to lose 100s of euros each night,...
