We have now stayed in 11 different places on this leisurely trip from France and this was the worst. It was not our first choice but the two other places we wanted were full. It was not terrible – it was clean, the bed was comfortable but it was certainly the noisiest, largely because we had very noisy neighbours who seemed to spend their time moving around the furniture. They also seemed to have cols and their coughing could be clearly heard. Mind you with not enough space in the very small room to get round someone sitting at the table you can perhaps understand why they moved stuff around. The bathroom was OK, though the shower cubicle was very small. Parking is a bit of an issue, though you can park in the lovely Plaza Mayor for 30 minutes and take your luggage round to the hostal which is only about 100 metres away. There is supposed to be a space outside for loading and unloading but there was frequently someone in the space. With the Plaza Mayor being so close the...
Read moreWe stayed a week in this spotless welcoming hostal in this beautiful historic small town only yards from the main Plaza Mayor. Hostal Hueso has the advantage of a pleasant restaurant serving Extremadurean food and wine and much used by the locals. We ate here on three nights and used the many other dining options in the main square on other nights. Breakfast, consisting of freshly squeezed oranges, coffee, bread etc was only 3.5 euros pp. .The owners and staff were all very helpful and they even found us a free parking spot just up the hill from the hostal. The room was quiet and air conditioned though because it is an old building, it was wonderfully...

The staff do not speak English or French, which was not a problem. There is internet wireless, however in the second floor room I was in, the connection was impossible, thus, the four star rating. Other things to be aware of: you will have to park some distance away, the city is very hilly indeed in this area, the shower was absolutely tiny (but worked great), you need the air con in at night. ||Still, I definitely recommend this hotel, and I would come back with...
