I wish I didn't go there today. I had to wait half an hour outside for a table. I have been recommended to go to this place but it ended up being so rubbish. Day light robbery. The seafood paella was burnt, tasted very fishy and the seafood was overcooked. The waiter neglected us, he brought us the salad with no condiments and we had to ask him several times to bring us mandatory items that other tables already had. On the table next to us, they found a hair inside their paella and the waiters carelessly sent them some wooden spoons to apologise. Anyway, that is not my problem. They shouldn't serve burnt paella and charge me so much for it. I complained to the lady who brought us in at the beginning and she said that's the way they cook paella. I explained to her that is not my first time having paella but she was arrogant and she behaved like she didn't care, she claimed that the paella was "the best" when in reality it was the worst. Personally, I wouldn't recommend this place at all it's biased to its customers and overpriced yet can't maintain consistency with their dishes. I am a chef and this was a very poor quality meal despite all the good recommendations. Absolute waste of money and time I...
Read moreThis is a decent place to have a proper paella with a nice ambience to accompany with. The rice and seafood were properly prepared with a noticeable seafood flavour to the rice, a sign that the chef has paid attention in making sure that the seafood paella is not simply just rice with seafood, but seafood paella with substance. It was speculated that the chef might have used a proper seafood broth in the process of preparing the paella. The price for the seafood paella is at a higher end of typical paella elsewhere. The pricing was definitely scalable to the quality of oridinary paella, in comparison to the ones you can have at the typical touristy spots. The seafood was reasonably fresh but the prawns on the day I had was not the freshest ones, something that I believe that they should improve in making sure that the seafood was fresh. Overall, a combination of the ambience of the restaurant with the quality of food made this dining experince a good one. It is not an outstanding place to have paella but it is a place with guranteed quality. It is a paella restaurant that is recommended to have a proper and finer paella dining experience in...
Read moreHaving been in Valencia for 3 weeks, we tried many restaurants and had wonderful paella along with great service. This restaurant was twice as expensive, which is totally ok if it came with great service. We were 6 people, and they seated us near the center aisle that leads to the exit. Once we sat, one young, male waiter rudely and with an attitude complained that we were in the aisle and pushed my 70 year old father to move. I was shocked, especially since right next to us was a table with a Spanish man seated in the aisle. I felt like he was "shooing" us. Though I don't want to jump into conclusion, perhaps bc we weren't locals (and Asian Americans) he had less patience with us and felt he could treat us less than. Having paid for twice more for our food, I would have expected much better service. Paella was fine, but did not exceed la pepica, la Paz, casa rafa, and many others, which not only cost less and but most importantly provided wonderful service. At the end there was also no thank you, even after we said...
