Food was actually pretty good taste wise, the only problem being we have no idea to this day, what we ordered. There was no menu offered to us, only a pen written piece of paper shown to us by the waiter. His english skills, in a city which is a cultural hub, were marked by only two words, which he eventually used, MEAT AND RICE. Apart from that, he was kind enough to roll his eyes when he realized that we don't really understand the menu, which is a fault of ours, as we didn't know that a few basic english words, even like " Hello" were too much to ask. We do understand and somewhat speak very little spanish, just to be able to get by in a spanish city, but that doesn't mean we understand every type of dish in the spanish quisine. Coming back to what we actually had to eat, we had a salad to start with and a carpaccio of some kind of meat, followed by a mistery piece of really tender, but with an unknown after taste piece of meat, wrapped in bacon, and two very sweet tasting sauces, a sort of rice mixed with sea food and a really nice desert. To sum it up, the down side was of course the lack of info on the menu and the overall attitude of the waiting staff. I would like to say that considering the fact that the food was really interesting, only if we knew what we had, we actually payed 40 euros for the two of us, including two beers, which would make it actually the ceapest and probably the best quality meal we had in Valencia. Coconut es una experiencia gastronómica única, no dejes de visitarlo. Desde el momento en que entras, te sientes como en casa gracias al trato profesional, cercano y amable de Quique y su equipo.
La cocina de mercado y de la huerta a plato es una delicia para los sentidos, con sabores auténticos que te transportan a los campos donde se cultivan los ingredientes. Además, la presentación de los platos es un verdadero espectáculo, una obra de arte en cada plato. Además dispone de menú de mediodía y de fines de semana. El propio dueño va el día de antes a comprar al mercado y confecciona el menú a razón de los productos que encuentra en el mercado, con lo que hay una gran variedad diría en los platos.
Pero Coconut no solo es un lugar para disfrutar de una excelente comida, también destacamos el ambiente del lugar, que te hace sentir en paz y tranquilidad en medio de la ciudad.
En resumen, si buscas un lugar donde disfrutar de cocina auténtica y del trato más cercano y profesional no puedes dejar pasar la oportunidad de visitar Coconut....
