Awesome experience! Read about it in the New York Times 36 hours in Valencia article this year. Glad we made the 25 minute walk from our hotel. It was worth every bit of the time and effort! Warm welcome for 8:30 PM reservation. We were the first ones in the restaurant as they opened at 8:30 PM Nice cozy room with Moroccan blankets covering the ceiling, which gave it a nice atmosphere and cut down the noise. White table cloths. Staff was friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful in choosing dishes. We wanted to order so much and they told us it was too much food. So they arranged to give us a half order of the Moroccan salad and a half order of the shrimp. That way we could try everything we want – we’re almost everything! The Moroccan salad was excellent and the shrimp with Charmoula and rice was dynamite. Followed it with a chicken Tagine with olives – ate every bit of it up and wiped the plate clean with the house bread – $.80 for a generous piece. Final main was the bastela —-excellent! Hadn’t had it in 20 years and loved every bit – the chicken, the nuts, the honey and the pastry dough. All for under €84 with a bottle of local white wine and three more glasses of wine and two bottles of water. Can’t...
Read moreIt wasn't as expected, as a Moroccan tourist, I was looking for some Moroccan restaurants available in the area and the closest was Dukala restaurant, even though it was far away from Mislata where I reserved the hotel. So, I had to took a bus to go the restaurant, and when I got there, I talked to the receptionist asking him to give me the menu. He said that I should have made a reservation beforehand, and this is not mentioned on their website, I also told him where I was coming from just to eat something from my beloved culture. And he said that he is sorry and there's nothing he can do bearing in mind that there was an empty table that he said it was reserved. As I was leaving, he haste and catch-up to me and told me that maybe if I waited 10 minutes, maybe a table would be available. I waited 14 minutes outside but he didn't come. so, I left. It was a bad experience to me. Especially, that it was the Moroccan restaurant that didn't welcomed me. As for, many restaurants be it Spanish, Italian, etc I had always...
Read moreDukala is absolutely one of the best restaurant experiences of my life. That clearly sounds over-to-top, but I have to be honest. We have visited several times, had several different entrees, and we always leave in a state of euphoria. The owner, waitstaff, and kitchen staff clearly care very much about the quality of the food, the beverages, service, and the overall experience. I could go on and on, but suffice it to say that you must go to see for yourself as soon as possible. Order anything and everything on the menu and it will be delicious beyond your...
