I was accompanied by a friend here on 21/10/21. The price was €10.95 each. I don't think anywhere can match that price in central Valencia. It included all food, (starters, main, sweet, drinks, bread). The starters where varied, the mains where really nice and again the variety was good. The sweet part was a little sparse. The ice cream was good. Beer, wine and soft drinks where on tap. The staff where efficient and speedy. It would have been a 5* but the main courses where only luke warm. I'd go there again whenever I'm close.
Visited again 23/09/2022. Very busy with youngsters predominant. The food wasn't as good as my previous visit. For instance the fish was soggy, under cooked and cold. I reported it to a supervisor but the fish remained available with no acknowledgement to the problem. The spaghetti was good but low on salt. The pizza's I had seemed undercooked and poorly presented. I think the hotplates need to be turned on earlier. The food was predominantly luke warm/cold. There seemed to be an assumption of all these other people are happy so we're doing OK. But no effort was made to improve the quality or the warmth of the food. The youngsters seemed happy to eat whatever was on offer. If it's quality you want then there are better options close to this fast food low quality establishment. They need to focus on quality and not on quantity. I don't think I'll be going back again. Sorry. I think the standards have slipped dramatically. OK is not good enough. There is a lot of competition close by offering quality food. But at €11.95 it will always have...
Read moreThis is an italian buffet located in the heart of Valencia. I tried the one from Saler as well (both for italian buffet options - the most complete menu - Friday evening, Saturday both lunch and dinner, Sunday lunch) so I think that a comparison will be better. In terms of location, this one is easily accessible by foot. Restaurant itself looks way better, even though the surface might be smaller than the one in Saler, the way tables are organized is way more pleasant. You won’t get stuck between tables waiting for other customers to pass by. Atmosphere - I liked better this one. It was less crowded and less noisy. For general atmosphere this is an advantage, for the food, not so much. Less people means that the food will be eaten in a longer period of time so it might get cold - which has actually happened (maybe their trays heating system was not working properly) Food - in terms of food, both restaurants had better food than expected. In Saler I could easily find some healthy options as well (pollo al formo, quinoa salad, salads and boiled eggs). In here you could choose some lean fish and salads. Besides that, I tried various pasta and there were tasty and full of flavor. Pizza was tasty as well. Dessert was better and had more option in here, that in Saler location (even though ice cream machine was...
Read moreOverall, the experience was adequate, precisely what one might expect for the modest price. The food was acceptable, though it disappeared rather quickly. The drinks offered nothing noteworthy—cheap wines and beers—while the coffee was truly dreadful, served scalding hot and with a distinctly burnt taste.
The service reflected the same mediocrity: one is left largely unattended, with the waiter appearing only sporadically to clear the table. Client attention is virtually nonexistent.
The clientele divided neatly into two groups. On one side, the quieter, casually dressed diners, perfectly tolerable. On the other, a more unpleasant contingent—guests in sportswear, loudly piling plate upon plate with an almost obsessive interest in the food. The sight was unrefined, even gross, though not entirely surprising given the working-class nature of the establishment.
The building itself aspired to a certain richness, but fell short. Wallpapered walls and dated floor patterns gave it more of a “wannabe opulent” air than any true elegance. The lighting and decorations were acceptable, but...
