Savoiardi — Restaurant in Valencia

If you're looking for somewhere to rest your legs after lots of walking and cycling, I'd recommend Savoiardi.

We went twice during our week long stay. I've tried the cheesecakes, muffins and tea. The portion sizes of the cakes are very generous so I'd recommend sharing if you don't have a big appetite.

The seats are super comfortable and you don't feel rushed after finishing.

The place looks fancy and cozy but in reality is not looked after well enough. There is so many people all the time, the tables take way too long to get cleaned that eventually you have to do it yourself. There is no or little air conditioning so they leave the front doors open, which creates a strong cross wind which blows to you all the time(a perfect way to get sick), in which the consequence is that the dust and pigeon feathers fly by you when you are trying to enjoy your tea. Plus they give little attention about serving you like 4 people are doing such basic things like refilling the ice machine, stacking cups, cleaning a counter and the other one fine was making a latte, but first serve the customer and then clean the...

Horrible. The shop is ostensibly a specialty/gourmet coffee and dessert bar, but it is a long way from that. I ordered a simple Café Bombon, a drink that was invented in Valencia. The recipe calls for ½ espresso and ½ sweetened condensed milk. The server would normally put the milk in the glass and add the espresso for a nice layered effect. Here I was given an espresso and a plastic packet of condensed milk for me to add at my table. That is not a fine café way, that is what one gets at McDonald’s. I had the server try again and he came back with the drink in my photo. It was about 1 part milk and 9 parts espresso.
