This ain't it folks... after ordering a milkshake and a hazelnut cappuccino, we were in for a disappointing adventure.
Staff looked very rushed and did not act very welcoming when taking our order. We were quite surprised by the unfriendly attitude of the staff, and this get not much better when our drinks arrived after about 25 minutes.
The milkshake, that was supposed to contain a scoop of Lotus ice, be topped with whipped cream and decorated with a lotus biscuit, turned out to be quite a tasteless, chocolate-ish milk concoction. After asking the waiter whether this was indeed the lotus milkshake, he responded that he would have to ask the kitchen staff. The same waiter passed our table numerous times after, but never came back with an answer.
The hazelnut cappuccino was an equally disappointing experience. It did, in fact, not contain a trace of hazelnut flavour. Of course it is possible that the waiter just did not hear that it we would have liked hazelnut flavoured, but they were adamant that this was indeed a hazelnut flavoured cappuccino. Funnily the bill just had a normal cappuccino on it.
After some time (~30 minutes) waiting for an answer about if the milkshake was indeed supposed to be like this, I decided to walk to the counter and inform whether they knew anything about this. After explaining that I had already asked one of their colleagues about this, the same unfriendly waiter that took our order was called in to answer my question. He looked really annoyed and headed into the kitchen to fetch a blender, and explained how the milkshakes were made. Apparently the ice, whipped cream and cookie that - according to the menu - was supposed to top the milkshake were all put in the blender and blended up, and that’s why the milkshake seemed to miss these items. They were, however, quite unable to explain how a milkshake that supposedly had a scoop of homemade lotus ice cream, a lotus biscuit and lotus syrup did taste of nothing but a bland chocolate-flavoured milk.
And just when you think you’ve had it, we were billed a euro more than was shown on the menu cards for this underwhelming milkshake. After pointing this out to the staff the extra euro was deducted from our bill without saying a word. In fact, none of the staff thanked us for visiting or greeted us on the way out. All in all, very...
Read moreI cannot begin to describe the utter disaster that unfolded at that restaurant. To say it was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had would be a gross understatement. It was a catastrophe of monumental proportions—an affront to the very concept of hospitality!
Let me start with the glassware. Calling them "unwashed" would be an insult to unwashed glasses. These were festering remnants of previous diners, smudged and stained like they had been pulled from a landfill! My girlfriend’s glass? Oh, it had a lovely souvenir in the form of a lipstick stain—clearly from someone else! I can only imagine how many health codes were violated with each sip.
And the food? I hesitate to even call it that. It was a culinary abomination. I’ve tasted better meals in places where food is an afterthought. The taste was an insult to my senses, as if they had put zero effort, and I mean zero, into preparing anything remotely edible. Every bite felt like a personal attack on my palate.
The only saving grace of this horrendous ordeal was the waiter, who was professional and friendly, but let’s be honest—there’s only so much one decent human can do when they’re surrounded by this level of incompetence and filth. This restaurant, situated in what should be a prime location, is a complete and utter disgrace to its surroundings. I wouldn’t wish this place upon my worst enemy.
Never again. Not in a...
Read moreDo not waste your time. My first time giving 2 stars soooo, it’s really not worthy it. First of all we ordered the tostada with tomatoes and their tomate is kind of a liquid that wasn’t good in my opinion. I asked for the regular tomates but they only have this type. The waiters try their best to be nice and helpful but they are always in rush so they might want you to order fast and the service might take longer. The cashier does not try to be nice at all unfortunately. The place itself should be beautiful but it’s a little mess inside with boxes and cleaning stuff. Your food will be next to the mop. I tried to order something to take away and the lady said I needed to be in a table. 2min later a guy ordered to take away in the counter. I ordered a cinnamon roll at the end and it took about 20min. Ps: the name of the place is La Rollerie by Canel rolls. The waiter told me it would take 5min. A plus: everyone could understand some English until I decided to cancel my order, since I saw it ready sitting (next to the cleaning stuff) and no one gave me it before, at this point no one understood English anymore. I sequence of bad food, bad service,...
